Cyria, Apostolic See of
Cyria, Sede Appostolika ta'
The Apostolic See of Cyria (cy. Sede Appostolika ta' Cyria, su. Apostolicae Sedis Cyriae), also known as just Apostolic See, is a country in Northern Gothis bordering Andrenne to the east, Duchrijeka to the south, while its northern frontier meets the Strait of Melina, granting Cyria maritime access to key shipping lanes and ecclesiastical pilgrimage routes. Cyrian Courantism is the state religion, and religious observance is both a civic duty and a spiritual imperative. The entirety of the country’s social, educational, and legal frameworks are founded upon Courantist doctrine. Religious festivals, masses, and processions play a dominant role in national life. Cyria is considered a spiritual epicentre of Messianism in the region, hosting numerous international pilgrimages, religious synods, and theological seminaries. The two official languages of Cyria are Suavi, used predominantly in liturgical settings, formal legal documents, and ecclesiastical correspondence - and Cyriac, the vernacular tongue used in daily life, education, and local governance.Cyria operates under a unitary theocratic regime, wherein governance is integrally linked with religious authority. The Pontifex Adrianus II serves as both Head of State and Head of Government, embodying the dual roles of supreme pontiff and temporal sovereign. His authority is derived not from democratic mandate, but from ecclesiastical succession and canonical tradition. The nation is governed through a unicameral legislature, known as the College of Cardinals, comprising 43 Cardinals seated as members. These ecclesiastical figures are appointed for life and function not only as lawmakers but also as senior clerics, often holding significant liturgical and doctrinal responsibilities. The College holds authority over national legislation, theological interpretation, and the election of future pontifexes. Cyria maintains a deeply conservative policy orientation, rooted in canonical law and the preservation of longstanding ecclesiastical traditions. Secular political parties are banned, and the legal system is directly derived from the Codex Canonum Ecclesiasticorum, with adaptations made for civic governance.
Largest cities of Cyria are Florent, Gherba, Marsax, Palma and Nica. Florent is the capital and the largest city with a population of one million, home to the Saint Alexander's Square and the Pontic Palace of Cyria. The total land area of Cyria is 30,112 km2, and its population in 2024 was recorded as 3,201,470. The nation is home to various pilgrimage sites, especially the Reus Cave in Marsax where sightings of Mother Mary was reported. The country is home to 112 monastries, 24 different Courantist orders and 13 seminaries in total.
