This election has been a bit quiet and it turns out there's quite a bit of DM campaigning going on. So I'm making this thread so people can post here the DMs they've received so we can hopefully move the campaigning out of the darkness and into the light, so that voters can make a better informed choice on the candidates.

I have confirmation that both Delegate and both Vice Delegate candidates are engaging in DM campaigns, and below I shall post the content of the DM campaign I have received.

Your support, as always will be appreciated. At least I've learnt some lessons from my time as TNP delegate, and I'll keep my mouth shut in FA and GP related matters.

You can add to this topic using this form:

Screenshots are also acceptable but please consider providing a transcription to include any sight impaired users we may have. :)

Additional information: My DM campaigns were primarily focused on seeing who Simone had reached out to and what he had told them.
These DMs are in no particular order.
Ruben's DM campaign message to Madjack:
Simone is making moves. Has he DMed you already?

Ruben's DM campaign message to Marcus:
Hi there, Marcus! I've been told that Simone is campaigning against me out of the public eye
I am not here to DM campaign - that's not my style - just to see if my suspicions are correct and his personal vendetta against me goes as far as what he's been accused of in my DMs

Ruben's DM campaign message to Epico:
Hi there! I was wondering who you were considering voting for in the general elections

Ruben's DM campaign message to Noscar:
Hello there, have you had the chance to read the platforms of the election candidates yet?

Ruben's DM campaign message to Matzerati following a different conversation:
by the way, i was wondering if Simone has reached out to you regarding his VD campaign

Ruben's DM campaign message to Attempted Socialism:
Hey there, I was wondering if you were one of the people Simone contacted about running for Vice Delegate/supporting him for Vice Delegate. His post in the candidacy thread seems to imply that: https://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9198930/#post-10713384
At least that you support his Vice Delegacy
I wanted to inquire about that as multiple people have come to me and said the above was true for them too

Ruben's DM campaign message to Inven following a different conversation:
i don't like dm campaigning, but the person who recently announced he was running against me does. it's what won him the delegacy in may last year (to the detriment of the region) so i am having to employ desperate measures to ensure he does not win
have you read the campaigns?

Ruben's DM campaign message to 9003:
hello there
i was wondering if you've been paying attention to the election

Ruben's DM campaign message to GBM:
I see Simone has been doing some DMing to certain people?

Ruben's DM campaign to Nutmeg:
gday gday
u probably know why i'm knocking on the door
but i was wondering whether or not you were gonna vote in the election?
Okay, I think that's it. The rest of the conversations can be shared by the individuals themselves if they wish to do so.

Thank you very much for posting these.

In light of this candour from one candidate, I'm now directly calling for the remaining candidates (@Chipoli, @Picairn, @Simone, @Matzerati) to post their own messaging, if it exists.

Got this campaign DM shortly before Simone threw his hat in the ring. Per other people, more DMs may have gone around before this and after this, unsure.

Here are some of my DM campaign messages. I will only release my opening messages, no names or full conversations because I believe the citizens whom I spoke to deserve their privacy, but they can choose to disclose the DMs if they wish. [Redacted] means it is a name.

[Redacted], would you consider voting for me this election?

Have you received any campaign DMs from Chipoli or the VD candidates?
[...]
Have you made up your mind on who to vote for?

Hi [Redacted], would you vote for me this election?

Hello, would you vote for me this election?

Hey [Redacted], would you vote for me again? I'm running for a second term

Hey I wanna ask, would you vote for me this election?

Hey, would you consider voting for me this election?

As I believe the individuals I have contacted do not wish to disclose the full extent of our conversation for all to see, I will not reveal every detail of our chats. However, in light of the people of TNP calling on me to provide transparency on my outreach methods, I believe it is my duty as a candidate for our region's highest office to do so and be as honest as possible with you all.

I would typically begin my discussions with a variation of these conversation starters:
Hi there, do you have a moment to chat right now?
Hey, are you around to have a chat right now?
Hi there, are you around to have a chat right now?
Hey [Name], are you around to have a chat right now?
Hi there, do you have a second to chat right now?
Hey [Name], can I have a chat with you for a second?
Hey [Name], are you able to have a chat right now?
Hi there, are you around right now?
Hey there, [Name]. Have you gotten a chance to read my platform yet?
Hey, do you have a moment to chat right now?

Afterward, I would respond with a form of this campaign message:
I am reaching out to you because I am running for Delegate in our current general elections. I believe that there isn’t enough activity in our government or the region in general right now, and I want to fix that. I posted my platform earlier: https://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9198931/

If you have the time, I'd like you to take a look at it and let me know what you think. I'd greatly appreciate your vote during our voting period. That said, if you have any questions, feel free to ask them!

If the conversation went on past that message, these would've been the questions I asked:
How can I help you decide [between the candidates]?
Hey, I just wanted to check in with you. Do you have any questions or concerns about any of my policies?
Have you given any thought as to who you may vote for?

Due to me being somewhat opposed to DM campaigning and the fact that I am running unopposed, I haven't sent out any messages.

On principle, my DMs are sacrosanct. It would take an Act of Flemingovia for me to even acknowledge their existence.
I agree with this, and to be honest, I'm a little uncomfortable with the pressure being put on the candidates here. It would be unfortunate if voters thought they couldn't discuss issues frankly with the candidates, because the candidate would then feel obliged to post that conversation in public for political reasons.

Frankly transparency is more important than a few people's discomfort. The public deserves to know if someone is running a DM campaign, especially if the content of those campaigns is largely negative in nature.

This.
If the candidates have approached me to discuss about their campaign, I will probably respect their intentions to reach out to me individually and not go down any comparison of whether who did such DM campaigns, and why they did so.
