After being your Speaker for the last 2 months, I would like to serve for a full term now.

During this term, I had to step up as Speaker after my predecessor Arafuttio resigned due to activity issues. During this half term, I feel like me and my Deputies have had some successes, like the restoration of the RA Digests, and a (sort of) completion of the Speaker’s Guides, a project that was started more than 2 years ago. We also managed to process an astonishing number of 1 vote.

But enough about the past, what are my plans for this term?
For this term, I have the following plans:
  • Continuing with the correct and timely process of routine business. This ain’t really a schoking promise. Last term I have tried to also involve the Deputies in this, but for the next term, I want to involve them even more. This means the Scheduling method I revived last term will be continued.
  • Continuing with the biweekly RA Digests.
  • Managing the Speaker’s Guides and starting with annotations to the Legal Code. Currently, the Speaker’s Guides are techically finished. With technically I mean that I might add more new Guides (I already have one planned), edit older and outdated guides, and restructure the ordering of the posts. After this I will start with the annotations to the Legal Code project, as proposed by Picairn numerous elections.
  • Legal changes. While serving as Speaker, I dove into the laws and procedures regarding the RA and Speaker’s Office several times. Currently I have a few ideas in mind, which I would like to research further.
Regardless of the success I will have this term, this one will be my last. If I get elected, I will be Speaker for a total of half a year, and a member of the Speaker’s Office for a full year.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask! (Until this Saturday I will be somewhat less available then normal due to being away, but I’ll try to answer as quickly as possible)

You didn't have a long time to show what you can do but you've performed well, to my mind. The work got done, after a fashion. I think you deserve a full term but there are questions that I would like to ask you:

1. The schedule you made has you as the lead on five out of seven days. In your platform you speak about getting them more involved, will this lead to the deputies taking the lead on more days?

2. There have been times where Deputy Speakers haven't been able to do their duties for various reasons. Can you confirm that all current deputies have the ability and permission to carry out all functions of the Speaker's Office?

3. Do you plan to amend the Standing Orders or change the Regional Assembly Rules along with any potential Legal Code changes?

1. I would love to assign more days and leads to Deputies, but this is up to their availabillity. Just like last term, I will ask the deputies of the days they are available, and fill myself in all the gaps. If this means I will be left with 2 or 5 days, will be clear when I have consulted my team.

2. All deputies have my full permission to conduct routine tasks themselves. With the help of the Speaker’s Guides and me, they also have the abillity to learn to conduct tasks. However, training the Deputies was a bit harder then I expected. Mainly due to a difference in timezones, a lack of work and my own habit to immediately take up all tasks I see if I log into the forums (which has been a lot this term). For the next term, I want to step back a bit to enable everyone their fair share of doing tasks.

3. I do have some plans on changing some documents, but these ideas are still very conceptual. I want to work them out this term, with the help of my Deputies and the RA. Note that these potential charges aren’t exactly groundbreaking, but more small procedual changes. Another reason I would propose changes to the legal documents, is to enable Deputies to also conduct all kinds of tasks around motions and votes, even when the RA lacks business at moments.
