CHAPTER 1, “INTRODUCTION” -​

- The Astral Commonwealth is a vast government, a union of multiple races, yet is still fairly new, only having its unification a decade ago after a bloody Half-century war. Today, further strengthening The Commonwealth’s ties, along with exploring & setting up new worlds, are the main goals of The Commonwealth. The main central planet, or capital planet, Aeolus, would contain the capital of both The Oceanus-Federation Government, and the Headquarters of The Astral Commonwealth. Numerous planets in The Oceanus-Federation would connect to Aeolus, such as Edwards Star and Cascadia-B. The 2nd main-planet of The Oceanus-Federation, Endymion, would also be a secondary point. Lastly, Luna, Aeolus’s moon, would be yet another place in the grand conjunction of The Astral Commonwealth. -

- On Luna, there were tons and tons of bases, both military, research, and civilian. Mining bases were there too. Orbital Habitats, space stations, research devices, and space ports were all scattered across Luna’s gunpowder-like & icy surface. At Luna, was the most powerful weapon of The Astral Commonwealth. One of the 2 massive Battle Stations, The UAS-98 “Unshakable” battlestation. 1,510 meters in length, its shadow loomed over one of the civilian cities as it orbited Luna. This ship was a mighty command place for the highest officials of the UADF and ACCF (Astral Commonwealth Coalition Forces), having both historical and political significance. One of many ships attached to it, was UADF (United Aeolus Defence Force) Escort Squadron 4, consisting of 4 Emerpid class cruisers. Escort Squadron 4 would be ordered to go on yet another mission, this time, to The Star Garden sector of The Commonwealth, a place filled with Seedworlds. Another rotation & work switch between Endymion forces & Aeolus was needed, for the Endymion Assault group there would be orders to go to another sector called “The Cluster.” (a place full of star-systems, planets and lifeforms). UADF Escort Squadron 4 would comply, as their journey began. -

CUT TO, the inside of the UAS-98 Unshakable. “Reporting to all soldiers of UADF Escort Squadron 4, any personnel onboard The Unshakable must return to the Heavy Cruisers they serve on in 5 mikes.” The person on The Unshakable Intercom said, making an announcement all over The Unshakable Battlestation.

The intercom announcer spoke again, saying “Repeat, any personnel onboard The Unshakable must return to the Heavy Cruisers of Escort Squadron 4 they serve on in 5 mikes.”.

2 soldiers, who were in the lounge of the Battlestation, noticed the announcement. One of the men looked at his watch, looking at his colleague as he said “Hey- Raffy, we gotta go.”

Rafael looked at his friend, nodding as he stood up and started packing his things on the table. “Yeah- c’mon, we should hurry Nico. Only got 5 minutes and we’re on the opposite side of the port-section.”.

“Ah shit, you’re right.” Nico replied, looking at the map on his hologram as he said “We’re in the entertainment section.”. After that, the two packed their things as they left the lounge, sprinting across the massive Battlestation. Passing through sector to sector, elevator to elevator.

Finally, what seemed like a long yomp, they made it in time. “Attention, all soldiers who are serving on the Cruisers of UADF Escort Squadron 4, must return for their mission. Departure is in 2 minutes.” The Announcer said, with his voice from the intercom echoing all over.

“Hey! Made it in time.” Rafael said, looking at Nico as they entered the UAS-79 Firestorm cruiser. Rafael greeted other colleagues and friends as they entered.

“Yup, definitely did.” Nico said in response.

Eventually, as time passed, Escort Squadron 4 of the UADF, would detach from the UAS-98 Unshakable Battlestation. Logs from Escort Squadron 4 would be made as they were on their way.

LOGS -

12:01 Aeolus time, November 23rd 2198.
For the past few days, Cruisers of Escort Squadron 4 have undergone refueling in the reactors, along with a refit. During the same day, the vessels departed the UAS-98 Unshakable Battlestation.

12:34 Aeolus time.
UADF Escort Squadron 4 would activate their Nuclear fusion engines, after using their thrusters to detach from the massive Unshakable Battlestation. After some time orbiting Luna, along with getting out of areas where civilian & cargo ships were, their fusion engines would go low throttle as they exited Luna orbit.

12:36 Aeolus time.
After getting out of LLO (Low Luna Orbit), Escort Squadron 4’s formation was done immediately. All cruisers would then slow down as their Nuclear fusion engines were turned off, for their Warp-drive engines would begin to activate. After making sure no spacecraft were in the way, with info being given to other ships of a Military group going into hyperspace, the greenlight was given.

12:37 Aeolus time.
All four Space cruisers, UAS-79 Firestorm, UAS-80 Astral Souls, UAS-83 Magneto, and UAS-85 Atlas would enter warp speed as they went into Time warp. They would use Timewarp route 43 to get to The Kalar-System.

November 23rd-25th 2198.
UADF Escort Squadron 4 passed numerous planets, with the overall long journey taking around 2 days. Usually, the power of the Nuclear fusion reactors would enable Earth-like gravity. However, during the Time warp, this would further strengthen that as they were at Warp speed.

Between these 2 days, they would pass “Edward’s Star”-system, The Crusader-System, “Landon’s-Star”-System, Arormar-System, as they continued entertaining themselves on board. After the 2 day trek, they would exit Warp speed as their Warp engines were turned off. They would arrive at Kalar-4, one of the seed worlds of the Kalar-System.

-FADE TO, the Kalar-System. The Kalar-System consisted of 6 planets, 2 of which were in the habitable zone. One of these planets was Kalar-4. Kalar-4 (named that due to its Star being “Kalar”) was an Aeolus-like planet, roughly the same size. However, the planet would have low gravity, having the possibility of life evolving to massive sizes, like that of Aeolus Titanfauna except they would evolve for different reasons. Kalar-4 also had a ring system, mostly grey, forming from a possible moon getting too close. Moreover, the planet had 2 moons orbiting it, Athea and Sovis. Athea, the larger one, was filled with numerous volcanic vents and oceans under it, much like that of the Moon Kara (located in the Oceanus-System). On the other hand, Sovis is a massive apocalyptic-like asteroid that seemed to have been pulled into Kalar-4’s orbit. Oddly enough, the asteroid is large enough to where it’s still spherical. -

-For Kalar-4, temporary military forts built by both Aeolus & Endymion were made, along with facilities which would be deconstructed once their work was finished. Numerous large-satellites would also be placed to monitor the activity of the planet & its moons, with an exploration force being stationed there. The main ship, the AEV (Astral Exploration Vessel) Alejandro Ilagan, would be both manned and unmanned. Manned crew would be there to repair the vessel & communicate with forces on Kalar-4, with the ship's AI re-directing & communicating with flying craft & probes. The Ilagan would monitor all activity whilst orbiting the planet, with a few Fighter Squadrons from Endymion staying as the Endymion Assault Group entered Warp speed to The Cluster. -

- As the UADF Escort Squadron 4 arrived, they would dispatch shuttles & gravicopters (space helicopters) to both the Illagan & Forces at the surface of Kalar-4. Around a week would pass by. -

LOGS -

6:30 in the morning (Aeolus time), November 25th 2198.

The UADF Escort Squadron 4 would enter LEO around Kalar-4, dispatching 2 Transport shuttles for personnel to meet up with the AEV Alejandro Illagan’s crew, along with 2 Gravicopters to go to Kalar-4’s surface.

6:40-11:50.
Communication would start & continue between the collected forces at Kalar-4. Endymion 70-72 Fighter Squadrons, UADF Escort Squadron 4, and the Alejandro Illagan.


November 25th-onward.
Regular military exercises, patrols in LEO around Kalar & Its 2 moons, etc. would be conducted. Throughout the week, switches were done too as personnel would go from being on the planet, to space and vice versa. The UAS-79 Firestorm, UAS-80 Astral Souls would be on the surface of Kalar-4, whilst UAS-83 Magneto, and UAS-85 Atlas were around Kalar-4’s moons Athea and Sovis. Endymion 70th Fighter Squadron were around the AEV Alejandro Illagan, with 71st and 72nd Endymion Fighter Squadrons being on the surface of Kalar-4.

- ZOOM IN… On the Surface of Kalar-4, Mark-230 Tripods of Endymion would patrol the surface, with Endymion U76 Terraformers planting numerous types of plants for the selected seedworld animals to feed upon. A group of UADF Marines would land on one of the facilities, as they exited their gravicopter and aided in mapping the planet & setting up the seedworld. On the seedworld, around 6 different fauna species were selected and placed. On the seas, Axolotls, fish and alligator gars were placed, all Aeolus animals. Meanwhile, on the land, Lightarrows, Southern Rasadons, and Assorntods were placed. These would all be Endymion animals. Plants from both Aeolus & Endymion were placed alongside them, fruits & other things too. Meanwhile, at LEO around Kalar-4, the AEV Ilagan dispatched probes and satellites as they communicated with its probes on Kalar-4 and other planets in the system. Fighters from Endymion 70th Fighter Squadron were attached to it as they orbited the planet. Lastly, UAS-83 Magneto, and UAS-85 Atlas were patrolling Athea & Sovis as they also were aiding an Orbital research facility around Athea. -

- On December 1st, with them celebrating Thanksgiving throughout the week, a major “Event” would occur. The crew of the AEV Ilagan, with Endymion 70th Fighter Squadrons attached to it, would notice an unknown yet new force appear… -

One of the large-unmanned probes of the AEV Alejandro Ilagan, named “101-Elliott” was returning from Kalar-3 as it made its way to the Ilagan. During this trip back, as it was sending transmissions, the probe's large camera lens would notice something as it detected something too.

“AEV Alejandro Ilagan to 101-Elliot, do you copy?” One of the personnel in the communications room of the Ilagan said, waiting for a response.

“101-Eilliot is detecting something, spacecraft are exiting Warp speed.” The probe said in its robotic voice with not much personality.

“What? There shouldn’t be any other ship entering unless it’s exploration or military… We never got info on any arriving here either. Are you able to give me more info?” The person said.

The 101-Elliot quickly replied, saying “Once they exit out of hyperspace. We got a possible UFO here.” as it used its thrusters to move out of the way from the detected heat signatures of where the spacecraft would appear.

“Ok.” The comms of the AEV Alejandro Ilagan said in response.

Not long after, as the 101-Eilliot probe moved out of the way, 3 corvette-sized warships would exit Warp speed. They seemed to have notable damages, their force affected the 101-Elliot probe as it was pushed out of the way, with the probe trying to redirect itself.

The camera of the 101-Elliot probe was projecting on the screens of the AEV Ilagan, the person speaking to the probe would then say “Holy shit… UFO’s, a new undiscovered faction!? Never thought I’d see this- 101-Elliot, are you alright?”.

“Yes. Redirecting thrusters. Unidentified Spacecraft seem to be hostile.” The probe said, its camera zoomed in at the damages and one of the vessels guns were glowing, like that of how UADF guns would glow orange or green. However, these glowed red.


“Not good- inform the 70th Fighter Squadron of this! We need assistance from those 2 Cruisers on the surface of Kalar-4!” The person said as he turned around to his other colleagues.

“Lieutenant Colonel Braun speaking, I need all fighters detached from the exploration vessel! Guard & protect it at all costs, standby until it is clear if they are hostile or not!” The Endymion colonel said, as his ship and the other fighters exited the Ilagan’s hangar & sides.


Meanwhile, on the surface of Kalar-4…

The Emerpid-class Heavy Cruisers flew low, with few clouds as their shadow loomed over mountains of Kalar-4. “Captain Tolkien speaking, what’s the issue Ilagan?” Captain Tolkien said on the UAS-79 Firestorm.

“We need your aid immediately! Unknown spacecraft have entered Kalar-4, they appear to be hostile according to one of our probes that spotted it!”

“Are the Magneto & Atlas able to assist you?” Captain Tolkien asked on the intercom.

“No sir! They’re still repairing that base after it was hit with a meteor shower!” The crew on the AEV Alejandro Ilagan replied.

“Alright, we’ll be exiting Kalar-4’s atmosphere.” He said. He then told the crew on the command deck to also contact the UAS-80 Astral Souls of this matter as well, with him saying to himself “What the hell?”.

The nuclear-fusion engines were on low-acceleration, however due to the situation, they were put to maximum to exit Kalar-4’s atmosphere. Gravicopters patrolling were alerted to immediately return to the 2 Space cruisers, with them quickly exiting the atmosphere.

“Nuclear-fusion engines, full throttle! Initiating Combat mode once out of the atmosphere!” One of the personnel of the Astral Souls said, with the 2 cruisers nearby each other.

Gravicopters made it into their hangars in time, as the Cruisers cut through the clouds, strokes of them disappeared as they were in LEO around Kalar-4. “Initiating Combat mode now!” One of the crew said, pressing multiple buttons as the spacecraft’s outriggers retracted & cooling fins heated. The railguns & lasers would then turn as the vessel’s thrusters positioned it towards the unknown corvette-sized spacecraft. The cruisers continued steaming towards the area where the AEV Alejandro Ilagan is at.

“Do not fire until fired upon, but keep it up with standard protocol! We must see if they are friendly or truly hostile!” Captain Tolkien said as his voice echoed throughout the command deck.

The ships continued getting closer to each other, as tension continued to rise…
