The Second American Republic's Arrival

In an alternate universe, an event occurred called the Great Collapse, in which all the nations of the world collapsed following a quick but bloody nuclear war. In the wake of the collapse of Old America, the remnants of the United States Armed Forces united to form the Second American Republic in Denver, Colorado. However, as nuclear winter began to set in, they realized that Earth was dying, and there was nothing they could do to save it. So, they created several portals across the Rocky Mountains and urged all surviving Americans, Canadians, and Mexicans to enter their territory for immediate evacuation. Many isolated communities refused, however, so the Second American Republic Armed Forces (SARAF) essentially used their remaining military might to force resisting citizens to evacuate. After going through the portals alongside millions of men, women, and children, the SARAF found themselves in a new world, untouched by the horrors of the Third World War. Now, with a temporary military council in charge until elections can be held, if they ever are held, the SAR must now rebuild their economy, government, military, and society in a new and unknown world. As a popular saying goes, "By God, we'll have our home again!"
