Closing Address - And Yes, It's All About You
In a few days, The North Pacific, as a shining beacon of democracy, will see a newly elected delegate take office. I wish them, and the new cabinet, all the best in their new term. Largely due to needing more time for my kids, work, and my spouse (in that order*), I have decided not to run for Delegate for this upcoming term.
I would like to thank the outgoing cabinet, including the ministers, advisors, and other officials, for their hard work and support. I will not go into details on what we achieved together in the last four months - I’d leave that for my colleagues’ closing addresses. Some highlights for me personally:
Activity-levels
- We had a wide variety of activities in TNP despite the summer lull.
- I feel my (very) hands-on style works better during the summer, when many regulars are on holiday and I have to step in to fill a wide variety of staff functions.
- I made my KPI!! The TNP Delegate’s share of endorsements did rise from 6.54% to 6.79% during my tenure, in no small part due to recruitment. (Thanks, @Petronellania)
- Communications (including Radio) made great strides in this term, with The Northern Notes back as a weekly despite significant staffing issues.
- We also did nine interview shows on radio (with Attempted Socialism, The Ice States, Westinor, and Weatherwind), plus a joint radio show with Europeia.
- Culture’s biggest highlight was of course the Pride Prom, which attracted 58 users across two regions.
- After a halting start, @Dreadton has taken the lead in fixing legacy issues in Cards.
- There are various major initiatives happening in Defense and Foreign Affairs.
- For opsec reasons I will not go into details but you’d hear about them from the next delegate.
- If there’s further updates this week, I’d add them in later here.
- TNP University has re-opened and when time permits, I will myself be one of the authors with new research into the history of TNP, and in World Assembly Symposium records.
- We stayed on-time and on-target in the WA, as usual.
Until next time,
Simone
