INTRODUCTION TO THE KHASTENIAN REPUBLIC
Khastenia, officially the Khastenian Republic (Szlavonic: Khastynskaya Respublika), is a country located in northern Craviter. Covering an area of 284,000 square kilometers (109,653 sq mi) it lies between the Phoenix Sea to the west and the Auburn Sea to the northeast. It borders Malor-Vilmarna to the northwest, Norsia to the north, Alemriche to the southwest, and Krawiterska to the south and east. The territory of Khastenia is geographically dominated by the Yuliya Valley, situated between the Hyral Mountains to the east and the Turva Mountains to the west. Politically, Khastenia is divided into twenty-eight administrative zones—twenty-five national provinces called "oblasts", two cities of special status, and one autonomous republic or AR. Siloyev is the nation's capital and second-largest city. Other major urban areas include Ramelensk, Kariyevgrad, Kislopol, Bodogorod, Liyev, Sirinsk, Grestin, and Klikhov.

Currently, Khastenia is a unitary semi-presidential republic led by a President as Head of State and a Prime Minister as Head of Government. With 64.4 million inhabitants, it is the Xth most populous country on Craviter. Khastenia is a founding member of the Association of Nations, and a member of the Craviter Economic Association, the Luscova Pact, and the Bergum Pact.
