Greetings and salutations!

First and foremost I apologize for the tardiness of this thread. my IRL has been unimaginably busy over the past few days - I quite literally have not had 60 unadulterated minutes to sit down at a PC and write this down. With that out of the way...

Hi. You know who I am - I am Bobberino. No need to reintroduce myself, I've been here awhile.

I made a statement on Discord hinting at my declaration before it was made official, and I'd like to quote it here as the bedrock of my campaign. "I agree with the philosophy that Court Justice is a dogshit position to have in a game setting rn and we need to, in my view, find a healthier way to juxtapose that with our own tendency to be verbose and, in my personal opinion overly litigious."

The burning question... how do you fix overlitigation...?

The answer... make it a game; again. There was much hubbub in private and in public - not necessarily on this forum - about our previous Court and their actions regarding the case: TNP v. KEKISTON, GrandEngland. In more plain English... we have rules. These rules are ironclad... even if subject to change. I believe it would be wise to provide more public notice; perhaps in an off-forum manner, such as a Discord ping of some sort? of when these rules change. I happen to be an experienced Dungeon Master.

I am no expert in law. I happen to have an IRL legal dictionary that, whilst not entirely comprehensive... is a real plus.

In summary, I promise to walk, arm in arm, with my benchmates - towards the pursuit, of higher Justice. Shall we?

1. Wymondham has stated that his judicial philosophy is judicial restraint, that the Court should not unilaterally expand the scope of legislation which is the responsibility of the RA. What is your judicial philosophy?
2. What is your opinion on Attempted Socialism's proposed reforms?

How are you making the Court into a game? As an element of this govsim game, isn't it one already?

Ditto on Picairn's questions.

1. We are at an interesting philosophical crossroads w.r.t. judicial restraint vs. reform from the bench, as we are in a situation where the very legislature that bind us... well... technically include ourselves. With that aside...

The Constitution is the highest law in the land. However, the Court has rules. These rules are ironclad - in my worldview, they are a ''Court' mask off' level of binding. Which is why I say in my OP that we should scream from the hills to the people about when they change. Going back to my original point about the Constitution... I would surmise that we answer in this order:

Court Rules
Constitution.

2. I believe they are all, in summary, good ideas - I would prefer to consult with my benchmates before codifying them further. The one that I am most personally skeptical about is voluntary recusal: my issue with it is that to this point it would require self-reporting. I would want to see some accountability - though I could, of course, consult my benchmates about designing such a system of accountability. Perhaps it would be best done in-house. Prosecutor discretion? Good idea. No real need for further comment - it is merely codifying good faith common practice. Nolo Contendere? A great initiative. I would require assistance in codifying this, but I believe what was proposed is a good start.

The Court is incapable of being made enjoyable. Based on my personal understanding of game design, objective number one is to always engage and entertain the player. We strike a careful IC/OOC balance, but if the players are not engaged or entertained... why waste our otherwise valuable time?

Do feel free to reply and ask me for further clarification - here, or directly elsewhere. I'd love to chat!
