Okay. I have read the indictment and it alleges a serious crime with enough evidence to make a prima facie case for the allegations. I will accept the indictment unless given points to the contrary.

In terms of bookkeeping, @Pallaith the accused has asked for your recusal, and as you are a material witness I would have suggested so myself.
As the Delegate is the one to submit the indictment, I will tell the Vice Delegate that they have to appoint a prosecutor, and that they have the options of Dreadton and TlomzKrano.
@Eluvatar am I missing something?

Edit: In the interest of full disclosure, I offered my own recusal to the accused as my position as deputy minister of foreign affairs could be seen as a conflict of interest, but the accused did not see it as a conflict.

The only reason recusal may be appropriate for @Pallaith is his being a witness, as far as I can tell. But that is a pretty good one. I will wait for him to comment on that.

I agree that it is unnecessary for @Attempted Socialism to recuse.

I will double check the judicial law as soon as I can regarding prosecution. We should also expect that we need to find a THO and/or SHO, as well as the moderating justice.

Naturally I will recuse myself from considering the outcome of this case.

Please do double check the law on prosecution though. I’m not sure why if I am not a judge considering the case, I would not be available to prosecute? At least as far as conflict of interest rules go, I don’t believe that is required (I will acknowledge it would likely be motioned regardless). I’m also not sure why the VD would need to make the selection as the Delegate is the complainant and not the defense?

Just checked again -- sorry, you're right. I was skim-reading and relying on memory from last time. However, since you would have access to the Court's deliberations in principle (regardless of whether you actually use it), I don't think you should serve as the prosecutor.

I will appoint myself as moderating justice, and Eluvatar as Standby. I'm appointing Sanctaria as THO.

If I am not mistaken, you should move this thread to the special chambers and exclude me from viewing that for the duration of the trial. That’s how it’s done with r4rs is it not?

I opened a new thread in the special chambers. How do I exclude you from viewing that? I only have moderating powers in the Chambers. Is it an admin action?

Correct, you would need to speak to admin to get that set up. I recall this being done when I was recused previously.

I will serve as Moderating Justice, Justice @Eluvatar will serve as Standby Hearing Officer. As Pallaith is recused in the matter, @Sanctaria will serve as Temporary Hearing Officer.
This is out of order in two ways:

1. It's up to "the remaining justices" not the Chief Justice alone to appoint a Temporary Hearing Officer. You needed to co-ordinate with me about appointing a Temporary Hearing Officer.
2. The Standby Hearing Officer is not a designated Justice to individually hear requests for review, they are a pre-designated THO in the case that the Moderating Justice does something that gets R4Red, necessitating the Moderating Justice's recusal. You need to appoint someone who isn't me, Pallaith, (presumably) Sanctaria, or Dreadton to that role.

I can take care of that.

Edit: Pallaith should no longer be able to see that area's contents.
