Introduction.
FROM STONE WE COME
TO STONE WE SHALL RETURN
BUT OUR FUTURE IS NOT SET IN IT
From the high peaks to the northern marshes, the Kaar stands proud. Inside of its many, or even gargantuan underground structures, the history of the world is set in the stone from the moment the Mountain awoke. Mother and protector of all within the Kaar, its society is not one based on race, but on the rites and ways of the Mountain.

The Kaar means "The Realm" (or The Kingdom, though it is a more suited translation to a common tongue). Loor and Damar are the names of the current heads of the Kaar. Kaar-Loor-Damar, the current definition of the lands, means "The Realm under Loor and Damar".

While years do exist, they are divided by eras by the different head or heads of the Kaar, being the longest the time of the Kaar-Dor, in the time of Dor, who was said to be the wisest of the dwarfs on the lands.

MOUNTAIN MOTHER, UNDER MÂ AND DÛ'S WATCH
KEEP US SAFE, SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE STONE.

In the center of the Kaar, a great mountain lies, the biggest of the continent. While the different people of the land have different names for it ("Highpeak" for the humans, "Kandar" for the Halven), for the dwars of the Kaar it's either called "Mother" or "Khada"

According to the Keepers, those entrusted with the task of recording history in the depths of Dorfall, all dwarvenkind originate from the touch of Khada, who was brought to life from Mâ (The Moon) and Dû (The Sun) according to the Kaar's Will. It is said that he magic of the world, flowing in the depths of the earth, converged beneath the mountain, where, drop by drop, like a stalagmite, life began to flow into the stones, and Khada shaped them to resist the cold of the depths and the warmth of the fire.

From there, tunnels sprung out across the depths, and as they stepped outside, it is said that the Mountain spoke to Math-An, a Keeper, who told them it was the Mountain's will to be defended, for many dangers lived across the lands, and that in exchange for her protection, they shall enjoy her blessing.
