As they say in Chinese (a language that Gorundu insists he is learning), sometimes it's Yingxiong Zao Shishi (the hero creates the right time), and sometimes it's Shishi Zao Yingxiong (the time makes the hero). Gorundu fits the latter, in my view.
Update: this will take a few months of research so will not submit at least until the end of Gorundu's second delegacy, or whenever he signs off. Also this was rushed out to block a competing proposal from going to vote.
The Security Council,
Noting that sometimes leaders commended in the annuals of this Council emerge after many years of hardwork, toil and sweat, but sometimes heroes emerge not from peace but from times of intense stress and crisis;
Believing that Gorundu (including various aliases used over the years) is one such leader who has not emerged through toiling in peaceful times, but instead rising to the occasion as Acting Delegate through a tumultuous and traumatic period of history in the region of The North Pacific, the largest feeder in the multiverse, when the uncovering of a scandal caused the Minister of Foreign Affairs and then the Delegate of the North Pacific to resign, requiring Gorundu to step up literally overnight;
Applauding Gorundu's ability to hit the ground running and deliver concrete results as Acting Delegate in restoring the pride and ambitions of the North Pacific in such a short space of time, including:
- Leading a full enquiry into the diplomatic fracas resulting from several other regions making unreasonable and unfathomably ill-advised demands upon the executive and citizens of The North Pacific;
- After due enquiries, significantly lowering the levels of diplomatic and military cooperation with several regions, to avenge for the disrespect and humiliation suffered by The North Pacific;
- Reaffirming The North Pacific'a commitment to be an independent region, a pragmatist between the so-called raiders and defenders, with its own foreign policy, strong and durable democratic traditions;
- Quickly helping to establish The Wellspring as a leading Frontier and close partner with Fhe North Pacific;
Applauding ongoing works within The North Pacific, including expansion of technology toolkits expanding media, culture and communications, reinvigorating the North Pacific Army, and, perhaps most importantly, protecting the sovereignty of the region;
Last but not least, taking this opportunity to recognize Gorundu's work in other areas of The North Pacific, which are too numerous to detail within the confines of a commendation, but briefly, including:
- participation in various lengths over the years in roles at The Rejected Realms, on the Magisterium of the East Pacific and Senator in Europeia;
- outstanding contributions in The North Pacific Army, Deputy Minister of Defence, Member of the North Pacific Bar, Prosecutor, Minister of World Assembly Affairs, Minister of Communications, Chief Election Commissioner, Speaker, and his penultimate position as Vice Delegate of The North Pacific;
- author of several World Assembly resolutions of importance to the entire community;
Hereby commends Gorundu.
