Greetings, NationStates community!
My Foreign Affairs staff and I are thrilled to provide you with an update on the Union of Democratic States after an extended period of inactivity. We intend to resume these updates on a bi-monthly basis, with the possibility of returning to a monthly frequency soon.
Our region has faced significant challenges in defining its identity, and the isolation resulting from our hiatus was palpable. However, we are grateful to our allies for continuing to invite us to events, operations, and for checking in with us during our absence. Although there is still much work to be done, I am confident that we are on the right path towards promoting a culture that we can all be proud of, one that has produced great leaders for the broader NationStates community in the past.
As many of you may know, burnout can often contribute to regional identity and cultural crises. While it is an unavoidable challenge, we are actively working to reignite our government sim culture while shining a light on our roleplay and RMB communities. Our roleplay and RMB communities deserve recognition for their tireless efforts to make our region a welcoming and hospitable place with minimal disruptions.
Additionally, we are in the process of changing the way we approach government simulation, allowing for the flourishing of roleplay laws and incorporating various communities to see how it unfolds.
We hope this explanation clarifies our absence from Gameplay and assures our allies that we are steadily working to restore our Foreign Affairs to its former glory. Thank you for your continued support.
President Phoenix Wins Third Term!

We are delighted to share with you that the Union of Democratic States has re-elected President Phoenix for a third term as the Head of State. He has been leading our region for nearly a year and has been re-elected due to his commitment to the role of President and preserving the Union's ideals.
Vice President Kanglia will serve alongside President Phoenix. We also want to thank former Vice President Zuk for his service and wish him well.
President Phoenix's Cabinet includes Culture Minister AnelynS, Foreign Minister Jax, Defense Minister Kanglia, Minister of Census Vendiagram and Minister of Roleplay Ad0nee. They are all committed to the betterment of our region.
We are proud of our leadership and excited to see where this new term takes us.
Senate Votes to Replace Senate!

In Late March the Senate Voted on a Motion to Replace the Senate, Which Passed by a 0-4 Vote, The Motion said that the Senate would be dissolved as the legislator of the Union of Democratic States and be replaced with a Non-Elected Body called the Council of State, where all Citizens will have the right to become a Councilman/woman/person inside the council
weather or not this new Council of State will be Effect in deciding laws for the UDS, it is too early to tell, but we will hope that we will not have to re-amend the constitution to get rid of it and bring back the Former Senate
A New UDS RP, Deranian Dreams!

Union Roleplaying
eranian Dreams is the latest reset of what was formerly UDS Interstellar and Apocalyptic Fiefdom, this time however it take a very different setting, being set in a fully fictional world with 2010 tech with fictional nations without much restrictions on what your nation lore can be like (as opposed to UDS realism RP, where it usually has to follow some RL history or alternative history), however there are three types of nations by the RP Rules
Great Powers, which there can be only 4 of them and are basically equivalent to USA, they can have as far as 15 trillion GDP and 1,3 billion people
Major Powers, which there can be only 8 of them and are basically equivalent to France, UK, Japan etc, they can have as far as 5,7 trillion GDP and 200 million people
Regular Nations, which there can be a unlimited number of them, they can have as far as 1,7 trillion GDP and 100 million people
Furthermore there is a United Nations equivalent called The International Assembly of Nations (IAN), it mostly works like in the Realism server but the Security Council permanent members are the 4 Great Powers
Right now the main rivalities are between the alliances ODA, led by the Phoenix Coalition and Orvos, and DTO, led by Corvalon, Columbia, the 4th Great Power, is also trying to form a alliance in Kontinia, furthermore a fictional version of the USSR, who is also a DTO member, has formed their own alliance called AID
A coming soon event is the Olympics, which will be hosted in the Phoenix Coalition.
So far Deranian Dreams has been quite active and successful among it’s playerbase and we hope it will continue stay that way!
UDSAF Update

Over the course of the last few weeks, the UDSAF has been in a bit of a lull.
Despite having decent participation in several of the most recent high profile liberations, the typical chasing efforts have lagged behind. To rectify this situation, the Minister of Defense and Commander Kanglia is planning to initiate several new proposals aimed to encourage UDSAF participation.
In other UDSAF news, AnelynS has been named the new Graphic Design Artist of the regional military, with their first draft for new military flags deeply impressing the upper brass. It is expected that there will be several new flag designs hitting the field soon, hopefully with multiple new members as well
