Queen Constance II crowned
*Queen Constance II, seen here attending one of several coronation parties
British citizens took to the streets in celebration of the coronation of the new Queen, Constance II. Her Majesty, formerly known as Silver Steps, is a titan of the region, although not always given the reverence that is owed to her in the history books of NSUK. A citizen of the region on and off since 2010, she has served successfully and with honor in all branches of government, executive, legislative and judicial. While her historic exploits are sometimes overshadowed by louder or more rambunctious individuals, she has always been present, always available and always a friend. Even in those times when not an active citizen, she often worked to stay aware of regional happenings, even taking time to reach out to individuals via telegram in-game to check in. A friend to all, a quiet leader, and one of the most respectable individuals to ever grace the region, Her Majesty now assumes the throne. It is with honest relief and a pure sense of joy that the citizens of the realm know that they would be hard-pressed to find a better choice for Monarch anywhere in the history of our beloved region.
In seeing Her Majesty finally elevated to a position that she did not seek, but was called to fill, we join in with all of our citizens in one simple but heart-felt message. Long may she reign.

House of Commons sees Changes During Term
The 81st Session of Parliament has been an interesting one within the House of Commons so far. With a General Election that saw no competition for seats, in part due to many citizens having summer plans and so not wanting to be an “empty seat” within the Commons, a delicate political balance was set, with two seats going to the Co-Operative Party, two seats going to Sinn Fein, and one seat belonging to an Independent, who refused to caucus with either party.
However, as the term has slowly gone by, we have seen both elected members from the Co-Operative Party resign from office, and the ensuing by-elections for both seats have been won by Sinn Fein candidates, both of whom had to fend up challenges by candidates from the new Republic party, which vows to abolish the Monarchy if elected. With some time left in the current term, Sinn Fein now claim four of the five seats in the House of Commons, and can now wield a power few parties get a chance to possess in the House, if they chose to. Political pundits note that they may struggle with parts of their agenda, however, as there are no Sinn Fein members in the House of Lords, so it will be interesting to see just how the two Houses of Parliament operate in conjunction with each other for the remainder of the term.

Chancellor Proposes Largest Budget in Regions History
On 1 July, David Allum, Deputy Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer, addressed the House of Commons to propose the latest budget as proposed by the Government of Prime Minister John Alexander. This budget, it was announced, would be the largest economic package ever proposed in the history of the region with various measures totaling out at a little over 340,000 pounds. The Government has offered a number of incentives within the proposed budget, including a 'Government Procurement Program' intended to encourage private businesses in their various ventures alongside a item line intended to assist media corporations in the region to continue to publish more regular content from newspapers to twitter posts to talk shows and more. The proposed budget also looks to increase the pay for most positions within the region while decreasing the amount of money citizens make for posting on the forum.
While the proposed budget is certainly an alteration from the budgets seen in recent times, the proposal has met little to no resistance in early discussions within the House of Commons, and to the surprise of some in the government who expected a fight over the budget, it is expected to be passed by a unanimous vote of MP’s.
