Founded in 2004 Leather Ghost has pushed the envelope of modern glam rock further and harder than any act since the iconic Donnerschwert. The band hails from Naesserhafen in northern Hessunland and was the brainchild of its lead singer Walter "Stych" Winter who founded the group following retirement from his previous band "Studded Serenade" in 2002. Blending the flamboyant stylings and sounds of traditional Hessunlander hair metal with a darker more aggressive gothic edge, Leather Ghost has amassed a vast following of devoted "leather" heads across Eras.
The band's debut album "Murder Glam" was touted as being one of the single most impressive works of rock in Eras since Donnerschwert, wanting to move away from the so-called "mythical" themes that had defined earlier acts Leather Ghost instead choosing to evoke a flamboyant mix of dread and comedy with songs covering everything from serial killers to demons. This harder edge quickly found a strong niche amongst many of Eras' alienated youth, especially in conflict zones where such offerings enabled them to escape from daily life. Produced by Roy Bosco the legendary "Don of the Din" Leather Ghost has gone from success to success as their concept albums brought joy to critics and fans alike.
No strangers to controversy the band has been accused by the political right of debauchery due to its hedonistic image as drug-addled thrill-seekers who exist only to party and by political commentators for their regular lampooning of world politics. In 2020 Stych appeared on stage dressed as the grand king of Andrenne and proceeded to goose-step around the stage, he would later double down on controversy when some politicians demanded an apology going on to say:
"I can only apologize to the Ducrijeckan people for the existence of Andrenne's tyrant, the guy needs hospitalizing and a bowl of good mellow"
Other targets for the band's infamous satire include The Premier of New Aleman, Sabhrain of Astragon, and Nerban Nerbangal of Karzastan. When asked if the band was inherently political the band's Bassist, Fidget had this to say:
"We don't like bullies and we don't care who knows it"
