TNP's Ministry of Culture is proud to present the DEMOCRACY DAY 2021 RAINBOW TOURNAMNET! See, Democracy Day is a bit of a hard one to plan for as Minister of Culture. Sure we have the pocket constitution drive- which you should all sign up for by the way. Click here for the link. Aside from that though, what can we do? Democracy is an intangible thing. We can say some nice words about TNP's democratic traditions- a tradition that I believe has made us the best region in NationStates- but what more can we do? And how can we promote that awesome TNP Pocket Constitution you can get for free? This isn't RP where we can promote it regularly through publicans or NBS shows. It's not a movie night or game night where we bring the community together....or is it? That's when I had an idea.

How can we celebrate Democracy Day? We can celebrate it the best way we can- by voting! So I, as Minister of Culture, have arranged something of an event. An eight colour Rainbow Tournament inspired by last month's Pride celebration! Here's how it'll work.
Eight colours will be arranged into a tournament bracket, paired together randomly. Votes held TNP's NationStates gameside site will determine which colours advance. And at the end we'll have the RAINBOW CHAMPION OF TNP for the year! Chosen by you, the people, in celebration of democracy in the North Pacific!




In fact I stealthily ran the first round of this thing a few weeks back to see if it had legs. And it did! Purple defeated Orange in the first matchup! The bracket thus looks like this....

We are live with TNP's Democracy Day Rainbow Tournament and tonight is certainly the greatest night in the history of our sport as Light Blue defeating Green in the closest match of the tournament thus far! Green got out to an early lead but Light Blue battled back and managed to edge its Terran rival out in what has to be a six star match!

We've reached the Finals of this celebration of Democracy in the North Pacific! Blue dispactehd Light Blue easily in the second of two semi-finals matches on last week's telecast, setting up our Finals! Let's send it down to our ring announcer!

"Try as Purple might, Brain, it just couldn't complete the comeback. Blue hung on to win a classic, and has now been crowned Champion of the North Pacific in...hey! Hey what's this?"

"It's chaos, Tony!"

"It's Black and White, who both failed to qualify for this tournament, and they're putting the beatdown on Purple and Blue!"

"How'd they get in here, Schiavone?"

"I don't know...wait! It's Red! One of the favourites to this tournament, he's come back to clear house!"

"Yeah, but who's side is he on?!"

"Red is cleaning house! He's....NO! NO WHAT'S HAPPENING?"

"Red is the third colour! Red has betrayed TNP!"

"We need to get all the colours out here to kick their ass, Schiavone!"
