Logical List Progression: An Overview

An Introduction

Welcome, HA leadership! This is a guide that I've written to help prepare you all for what the generation of recruitment lists will look like for this term (May - September 2021) and is something that will hopefully establish a referenceable method to our madness - if you will - in regards to how many lists that will be generated per month and when each of those lists will be expected to be completed by.

Recently, I've felt as though we've become a bit too comfortable with generating lists, claiming rows, and completing lists as a standard practice. As always, recruitment and mentorship will continue to be the spread and butter of the Ministry - so to speak - but the information included herein give some much-needed structure and direction to our day-to-day activities.

Our Goal

If the Ministry of Home Affairs is to become a functional recruitment tool for everything that our region has to offer, then we'll need to set clear objectives and avoid generating lists haphazardly. Each list that is generated should serve a purpose and no list should be completed for the sake of making us look busy or to have something to include in our monthly reports.

Let us remember that there is, in fact, a tangible benefit to having staffers claim rows and complete these lists. Not only does it enable us to conduct targeted advertising for a wide variety of things that we may wish to promote, but, when we work to leverage the resources that are already available to us, we can also get into the habit of executing lists more cyclically and make a conscious effort to give our Ministry purpose.

In my campaign, I proposed separating the lists that our Ministry typically generates into two categories.

Those categories can be found below with brief explanations about how they are to be used and what they each cover:

  1. Backbone: These are lists that, when generated, are completed in a set progression and will be used in tandem with the WADP and its recruitment function. Promotional campaigns will be run for each ministry in a pre-determined order and lists will often work in collaboration with what the Vice Delegate is sending out (as it relates to WA matters). That pre-determined list is as follows, and weighs each ministry's cycle priority in terms of which need the most help and exposure (at the time of writing):

    - Home Affairs (HA)
    - World Assembly Affairs (WAA)
    - Communications (Comms)
    - Cards (Ca)
    - Defense (NPA)
    - Foreign Affairs (FA)
    - Culture (CU)
    - Radio (Ra)

  2. Conditional: These are lists that, when requested by an authorized authority (which will be anyone on the Executive Council), are generated for a specific purpose and to fulfil a certain need (E.g. the Minister of Communications requests a list that advertises a new issue of the Northern Lights or Polaris publications to potential readers).

As for what telegram templates have been written during previous terms, I've broken down each list type into its own section and have already outlined the ideal progression of lists within each type:

Legend (Key):

*
denotes a non-existent template
^ denotes a list type that needs expanded message templates

Generally Applicable^

New Foundings for the Forum
WA Endorsers for the NPA

Explanation: These are messages that, regardless of circumstance, are always desirable to have been sent out and advertise an important message.

Progression #2: Issues Answerers for Citizenship --> Issues Answers for WA and for the Executive Staff --> Issues Answerers for Cards Guild --> Issues Answerers for RP

RMB Posters^

Progression #1: RMB Posters for Discord --> RMB Posters for the Executive Staff --> RMB Posters for HA --> RMB Posters for Communications --> RMB Posters for FA --> RMB Posters for Culture --> RMB Posters for Radio
