Liberate The Embassy
Category: Liberation | Target: The Embassy
Proposed by: Sorianora | No Onsite Topic

The Security Council,

Recognising the incredible foreign relations created by The Embassy by all its embassies

Praising The Embassy for being a connecting region, creating friendships and alliances between regions

Applauding The embassy’s stand against the growing evil of fascism

Disappointed that this raid will halt the further writing of the regional newspaper, The Cable

Distraught by Lily, Lone Wolfs United, The Black Hawks, Europeia, and Karma’s raid on this once flourishing region

Hoping the members of the World Assembly will see fit to liberate this region from the control of raiders

Hereby Liberates The Embassy

Overview
“Liberate The Embassy” seeks to prevent the forces occupying The Embassy from implementing a password and potentially refounding the region. It argues that the region has served in the past as a conduit for communications between its embassy regions, thus being a valuable asset for improving foreign relations between regions.

Recommendation
Dubious claims of foreign affairs work aside, the proposal is poorly written and has several flaws and inaccuracies contained in it. The proposal itself inaccurately cites the potential halt in production of the Cable, the region’s newspaper, as an argument to remove the raiders when the region’s founder had already announced its last edition a month ago. Additionally, it purports that the region has stood against fascism when in the past, it had harbored several fascist embassies, and only closed them upon being threatened and bribed to do so. Overall, its argument for liberation is poorly made, and stands on shaky legs.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends voting Against the at-vote Security Council proposal, “Liberate The Embassy”.

Feels like a badge hunt to me to be honest. Leaning against unless the natives want it.

Against, seems like the region was dying before it got raided. Don't know if there are any natives that want it.

Against. Password is public. The region also has a questionable history.

I am in contact with the natives and am discussing the benefits and drawbacks of this option with them.
Against. Password is public.
Current password is public, the eventual changed password once sufficient influence has accumulated and a draw down order is issued by the occupiers will not be public.

https://www.nationstates.net/page=dispatch/id=1484976 <- according to this, wouldn't have been continued anyways.

"Flourishing" is a bit dubious considering the region's population count of what, five? And considering what happened with the last repeal I'm a bit perplexed by the fascism line. Anyways, if anybody wanted further arguments against this proposal there ya go :P

I don’t think the raiders of the Embassy particularly want to make it their trophy.
