World Assembly Campaigns & Approvals

Greetings McMasterdonia,
I am reaching out to you to request your approval for my General Assembly proposal, "Prohibition Of Honor Killings", if you have not yet done so.
Honor killings are particularly horrific acts, as they fundamentally represent a betrayal of the trust that an individual has between themselves and members of their family and community. Unfortunately, such atrocities are not a relic of the past, but rather occur in many places around the world, something which I do not believe this Assembly should tolerate. As such, this proposal of mine seeks to prohibit honor killings themselves, and also prevent the perpetrators of these crimes from escaping justice.
My proposal can be found here: page=UN_view_proposal/id=greater_cesnica_1614623724
Thank you for your time,
Greater Cesnica

Hello McMasterdonia,

I am telegramming asking you to approve Commend Roavin here: page=UN_view_proposal/id=vippertooth33_1614679206

Roavin is a long-time defender protecting regions from invasion. He has contributed to building The South Pacific as a region throughout a number of positions. He has a long history of opposing fascism on NationStates. This proposal seeks to acknowledge all the work he has done. Your support in getting this resolution to vote (and passing) would be greatly appreciated.

Once again, the link to the proposal is here: page=UN_view_proposal/id=vippertooth33_1614679206

Good morning, Delegate McMasterdonia.
I am writing to you about my newly-submitted proposal, Condemn Minineenee. This proposal centers around the notorious actions of a nation who has couped, helped to coup, or attempted to coup many major regions across NationStates, including The East Pacific, The West Pacific, Osiris, Lazarus, and The Rejected Realms since their arrival onto the world stage in 2003. Natives have been banned from their home region by Minineenee and their allies throughout the existence of their organization known as the Empire. Their work has led to destabilization of these regions that sometimes took years to overcome, as stated in the proposal.
This nation has yet to be identified by this body for their work against the sovereignty of regions and their inhabitants despite a long career of such. This is something that should be rectified. Please approve the proposal and ensure that they receive international condemnation for their efforts to operate against the good of nations and regions alike from their arrival onward.

Dear delegates,
I am currently proposing a Condemnation in the Security Council to Condemn Cashdeer. Cashdeer can only be described as a corrupt corporate dystopia, with their own citizens having extreme death rates (top in the world), having unbelievable amounts of crime (top in the world), a 99.4% obesity rate, and having extremely high levels of Youth Rebelliousness, a horrific environment, and the nation ignoring all public funding excluding Industry and Foreign Aid.
This calamity has been bought forward solely by Cashdeer's leaders, and their addiction to profit. They allow Child Labor in their lands, allow and encourage industries such as the environment-destroying Mining to prosper, refuse to fund healthcare or welfare for their citizens, and allow religious cultists to sacrifice humans.
I urge all delegates to approve my Condemnation proposal for this atrocity, here:

Greetings Esteemed Delegate of the hallowed halls of the World Assembly!
The administrators of the Republic of Port Ember comes before you today, humbly requesting your positive vote on our new proposal, the "Maritime Vessel Registration Act".
This proposed legaslation aims to close the current shortcoming of international law as it pertains to the registration of merchant vessels, due to no extant law enforcing the need for any vessel to register under the jurisdiction of any nation, thus creating a loophole where vessels can bypass extant laws which pertains to several categories, for example health & safety, security, communication, markings & signals, inspections, and labor concerns.
This is a clear threat to the workers, consumers, general public and free & fair trade of all Member Nations.
The proposed legislation will ensure that all these concerns and more are addressed, assisting in the noble aim of this Assembly to bring forth a fair, equal and prosperous multiverse!
I thank you humbly for your time, and in advance - for your vote!

(IMPORTANT) To the esteemed delegates of the World Assembly,
Hello, I am coming into contact with you to discuss the proposal "Ban On High Import Taxes Act".
The proposal aims to limit taxes to help countries and businesses who cant pay high amounts of tax. The Act would limit taxes on imported goods to 25%, with certain exceptions.
By voting to bring this proposal before the WA, and by supporting it in voting, we can help both businesses and countries! The world would be a better and freer place.
I created this proposal with the intention to help businesses and countries, and you support would be welcome.
I hope to see a response from you soon, any support for the proposal is greatly appreciated.
With Pleasure,
The President of Sordlandiana.

Hello Fellow Delegate and McMasterdonia
With all due respect for the recently passed legislation, we find it necessary to campaign for it's repeal.
Please find attached the link to review:
Repeal GA #544
Repeal: “Prohibition Of Honor-Based Violence” A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.
This is a resolution to repeal previously passed legislation in an effort to maintain peace and prosperity. The following substantially provides the standing and merit behind such a request.
It is hereby proposed that the legislation called "Prohibition of Honor-Based Violence" be repealed without delay.
1. Whereas violence perpetrated against an individual by or at the direction of a relative or any other member of a community was defended, at a minimum, by the ability to implement retaliation of similar nature.
2. There are nations states who use severe and extreme measures to enforce, enact and otherwise demand loyalty, respect and obedience from it's population regardless of how peaceful the WA and it's member states to include "honor based violence" against other nations states even if it is an individual, a relative or any other member of a community.
3. Whereas a simple yet common example of this simple fact can be expressed in the motto "Live Free or Die" from New Hampshire.
4. Whereas individuals, relatives or any other member of a community may, at any time exist within and without the borders of other nation states.
5. With the prohibition of severe punishment that is equivalent to the acts perpetrated by offending states, nations or factions enacting such violence, the members and individuals of the WA become targets without the ability to defend themselves.
6. Prior to this prohibition, there has been a mutually assured destruction or at least the unknown threat of an equilateral punishment for bad behavior.
7. This legislation limits "prosecution" to a demand for remuneration, which can be scoffed at by any nonmember as they rape, pillage and plunder.
Therefore it is hereby put to vote that this legislation be repealed immediately so that our military defense and private security may protect our nations honor at least in theory by threat of equal retaliation.
We support peace and despise violence, however, some of our nations exist without borders and some without prisons under constant threat and attack without the ability to defend ourselves in kind and in honor of our and your own belief system.
Our concern is simply to have fun and keep our WA and it's members safe. Please support our campaign to repeal this legislation.

Thank you for your time, patience, support and understanding.
Respect and Regards,
DeerField Cove

Dear Delegate McMasterdonia,
Please withdraw support from Repeal: "Prevention of Forced Sterilisation".
page=UN_view_proposal/id=tinhampton_1615654819
This proposal is a blatant attack on the individual civil liberties of every individual. When we allow flawed and often corrupt criminal justice systems to forcibly sterilise individuals, we strip away the right to bodily autonomy for every single person. Unpopular as it often may be, those convicted of serious criminal offences still maintain a right over their body against forced sterilisation and mutilation.
Through out history and today, there have been far too many examples of oppressive and authoritarian regimes forcibly sterilising vulnerable minorities. In 2020, there have numerous reports of a privately owned US federal immigration detention centre forcibly sterilising vulnerable immigrant women. In Puerto Rico, widespread forced sterilisation and eugenics have resulted in comparatively low birth rates today.
So don't make the same mistake again. Reject this proposal now.
Please withdraw approval from this resolution.

Signed,
The Langburn Islands

FYI I had never approved the proposal. I advised the telegram author to perhaps contact those who have approved it. Otherwise he is simply advertising the proposal further.

Dear Delegate McMasterdonia,

The Commonwealth of the Langburn Islands humbly asks you to approve 'Regulating Building Construction'.

page=UN_view_proposal/id=the_langburn_islands_1615764563

The current lack of regulation at an international level is putting individuals at risk of being seriously hurt or killed in building collapses. This is simply unacceptable.

'Regulating Building Construction' will establish minimum guidelines whilst granting national governments the option of introducing stronger building regulations. The resolution will also establish minimum workplace safety standards specifically related to the handling of hazardous materials during construction.

It is high time that the General Assembly works to protect the safety and wellbeing of anyone involved in the construction of buildings.

Approve 'Regulating Building Construction' today

Greetings, Delegate McMasterdonia!

I am writing to you on behalf of my proposal, Condemn Dilber. The nation known as Dilber is an active tyrant who denies new nations the opportunity to settle into The West Pacific, hoards power among those they deem worthy, and manipulates the World Assembly vote on a whim. This nation is truly Condemnable, which is why I ask you to support Condemn Dilber. I know it is unusual to Condemn a GCR delegate, but I truly believe that unless there is recognition given to the issues caused by Dilber’s tyrannical reign over The West Pacific, there will be no other way to make this nation understand that they are oppressive and need to give their populace freedoms and the ability to stand for themselves without fear of being purged on a whim.

Please click the link below and support this proposal today!

Greetings Delegates of the World Assembly!
I am emailing you today to encourage your support for the current GA proposal: "Repeal Death Penalty Ban".
Although the original ban clearly means well, there remains several flaws in its reasoning. The original proposal was written on the belief that the "[Application of the death penalty] targets the mentally ill, socio-economically disadvantaged, and members of racial and cultural minorities". This ignores the fact that most nations with the Death Penalty have stringent laws preventing the execution of the mentally ill, and that the issue of using the death penalty to target racial and cultural minorities and the socio-economically disadvantaged is part of a larger systemic issue of disparity in the justice departments of individual nations. The removal of the Death Penalty does not address the big picture issue of disparity, and in fact may worsen the issue by drawing attention away from the issues of unequal treatment and enforcement.
Additionally, there remains popular support for the Death Penalty in many WA member nations. One of the founding ideals of the World Assembly is to spread the free democratic expression of ideas and ensure that the government responds to the will of the people. Although it may be distasteful for some, the inclusion of Death Penalty ban is an expression of democracy for some nations. Not only is forcing member nations to abandon the Death Penalty inherently undemocratic, but it is also contradictory the principles of the World Assembly.
For these reasons, and many more, I hope that you will support the proposal: "Repeal Death Penalty Ban".
Thank You,
Big Boyz

Esteemed delegate,

Greetings! I am Ambassador Benji Schubert Hepperle of the Honeydewistanian World Assembly delegation. Today, I am contacting you to request that you approve my General Assembly proposal to repeal "Digital Network Defense".

Digital Network Defense is a problematic resolution to say the least. It forces the hand of governments for unexplained reasons, such as requiring all cyberattacks to be made criminal offences regardless of the nature of the offence, and prohibits them from spying on foreign terror cells that pose a threat to them. The resolution also "Reserves the right of member nations to monitor networks for digital security threats, should national law allow them to do so", which allows nations to do mass digital surveillance which in our opinion should be regulated by this assembly.

I believe that for several reasons Digital Network Defence should be repealed. I have also drafted a replacement to ensure the useful provisions of Digital Network Defence can still be covered! So the only thing that comes out of this repeal is a win, so I encourage you all to read my proposal and approve it if you agree with it.

Well, hello there!
I hope to have a moment of your time to ask for your approval of the proposed General Assembly resolution entitled "Military Death Penalty Ban". The proposal expands on a previous resolution entitled "Death Penalty Ban", which abolished its usage under most circumstances, but the "Military Death Penalty Ban" serves to abolish the remaining circumstances in which the death penalty remains legal.
I hope to find common ground with you when I state that the death penalty is a barbaric practice that must come to an end in its usage. Many innocent people have fallen victim to this cruel and unusual punishment for far too long, and capital crimes continue to be committed even though some advocates say that the death penalty deters people from committing such crimes. This argument does not hold up when we look at the facts.
All I am asking of you is one thing, and that is your approval of the proposal entitled "Military Death Penalty Ban", and you can do that by heading on over to this page and giving your approval on the proposed resolution. I hope I can count on your support in abolishing this inhumane punishment.
Thank you for your consideration,
Qvait

Greetings Ambassador of McMasterdonia,
The Castellian delegation to the World Assembly requests your approval of our proposal, "Freedom of Association". We are delighted to present this proposal, which we believe will help all nations in our esteemed Assembly to ensure what we believe to be the third pillar of fundamental freedoms that could be guaranteed by this assembly alongside freedom of religion (and thus belief-guaranteed by GAR #430) and freedom of assembly (codified in GAR #537). We are convinced that the right to associate with an organization of one's choosing (subject to reasonable limitations) is a necessity to secure the civil rights of all of our citizens. We hope that you read over our proposal here and that you choose to approve our proposal.

Greetings, McMasterdonia!
We, the World Assembly Delegation of Zukchiva, have come to ask for your nation's approval of the Security Council proposal Commend The Atlae Isles.
The Atlae Isles is a nation well known for its dedicated work and hope for a brighter future. Its people are hardworking and benevolent, and collectively their labor has impacted both their home region of the East Pacific and the wider world of NationStates.
For a recollection of some of this nation’s deeds, it:
Drafted three national issues, which your nation may have already encountered,
Mentored and guided various nations, who have gone on to make their own impact in NationStates,
Rose to a notable stature within wider the international artwork community, partially by helping the East Pacific develop a regional artwork community of its own…
...and many more great deeds besides! All of which are detailed within the proposal.
So once again, my nation asks your delegation for its approval of "Commend The Atlae Isles", if for nothing else, to reward a determined and industrious nation for the work it has done within these past few years. We hope that you agree with us in that The Atlae Isles is a nation long overdue for a commendation.
