The Suri religion is an old religion, almost 2500 years old now. The religion is centred around the Deities, their deeds and their stories. Many stories are there about these deities written in the Ⲧⲟ Ⲃⲓⲃⲉⲣ (The Book). Stories say that this book was written by ⲐⲁⲛⲁⲧTⲩⲥ (Thanatus), the poet from the heavens who himself witnessed these events and gifted King Ⲑⲉⲣⲟⲥ (Theros) the book as a reward for his devotion. All Suris follows the religion. The religion is polytheistic centred around morals, how the deities helped us and how we should live. The deities in Surism are:-
Ⲇⲓⲙⲓⲟⲣⲉⲙ (Dimiorem), God of Creation
Ⲙⲁⲕⲗⲓⲥ (Maklis), God of the Royalty
Ⲫⲩⲥⲁⲓ (Fusai), Goddes of Nature
Ⲟⲕⲉⲁⲛⲟ (Okeano), God of the Sea
Ⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲁⲓ (Upistai), Caretaker of Hell
Some stories from To Viver:-
Origin of Cocoa-
One day, the first man, Ⲕⲣⲟⲥⲟϣ, was working in the fields, caring for his crops. He was very pious, he was the most connected to Ⲇⲓⲙⲓⲟⲣⲉⲙ than any human ever. He everyday praised Ⲇⲓⲙⲓⲟⲣⲉⲙ and lived a sinless life. For his devotion and trust on him by Ⲇⲓⲙⲓⲟⲣⲉⲙ, Ⲇⲓⲙⲓⲟⲣⲉⲙ called Ⲕⲣⲟⲥⲟϣ in the morning to the hill of Ⲁⲗⲟⲙ. When Ⲕⲣⲟⲥⲟϣ reached the peak Ⲁⲗⲟⲙ, he found a bundle of mysterious seeds, he asked Ⲇⲓⲙⲓⲟⲣⲉⲙ what were these plants? Ⲇⲓⲙⲓⲟⲣⲉⲙ instructed Ⲕⲣⲟⲥⲟϣ on how to make liquid chocolate, a delight of the past and an ancestor of the chocolate bar. After a few months, Ⲕⲣⲟⲥⲟϣ finally made the chocolate, he tasted and he loved the taste. He called his wife Ⲅⲁⲙⲁ, to taste the chocolate. Ⲅⲁⲙⲁ loved it. And from then, chocolate passed down from one generation to the latter one. And here we are today.
There are other stories and morals but that’s for another time.
