Býkonsviði, Prydania
A newly minted Predicean Air Force Brigadier General, Roberto Tagliabue stepped off the airplane. It was briskly cool. Nothing like back home in Nuova Antofagosta, where it was reasonably warm year round, never dropping into the minuses. He saluted the few people meeting him. There was little fanfare. He stowed his briefcase into the back of the car, and sat down. The ride was not very long, and he could have walked the distance had security not been a concern. He enjoyed the drive, however.
The vehicle pulled up to a bridge across the great moat around the Citadel of Býkonsviði, the Military Headquarters of Prydania. Having exited the vehicle and retrieved his briefcase, he began to cross the bridge. A sentry on the other side stood to attention, as the officer crossed the bridge. After showing the sentry some documentation, the officer was allowed in.
This Great Fortress was centuries old, and had weathered many a storm. Much like Prydania itself, burned many times, but never assailed.
The General walked towards the main offices of the General Staff, there he had a job to do.
Roberto quietly entered, removed his dark blue winter coat, and walked to the presentation room, where he unpacked the contents of his briefcase: a laptop, some booklets and a metal scale model of a Falcon.
He was here to make a pitch to the Prydanian General Staff, hopefully ending in the Santo-Predicean Falcon being ordered.
He quickly connected the laptop to the projector, and as he had done that, the members of the Prydanian General Staff entered the room.
The first to enter was Field Marshal Stig Eiderwig, Chief of the General Staff.
Next came Admiral Hlodvir Stensrud, from the Royal Prydanian Navy,
behind him was Marshal Sigurjón Hustad of the Royal Prydanian Air Force, and last came Lord General of the Knights of the Storm, Laudris Hummel.
Roberto saluted in response, the members of the Prydanian General Staff saluted back.
“Welcome, gentlemen. I believe you all know why you are here, yes? So let us begin. I will show you all a video, and then a presentation, you may ask questions throughout.”
The General put on the video. The Members of the Prydanian General Staff watched intently, almost captivated by the video.
Roberto thought that perhaps he had already made the sale.
After the video was over, the Chief of the Air Force, Marshal Hustad immediately asked a question:
“Why are the planes beeping all the time?”
“Well… It is supposed to signify that the planes are technologically advanced.” Roberto answered
“Ah, I see.” the Marshal responded.
“So do we get bears with purchase?” Stig interjected.
“No, unfortunately no.” Roberto answered, quickly.
“If no bear then surely we must get wolf right? At least one wolf.” Stig then said.
Roberto answered: “Well, we can make that happen, yes.”
“So to the point, how is this better than the Harrier.” Stig asked, suspiciously.
“Well… where to start? More powerful afterburning engine, can accelerate to Mach 2..” Roberto was cut off.
“No no, how is it better at fighting” Stig interrupted.
“Oh. Well it can carry more modern missiles, and essentially every weapon under the sun. It has a more powerful radar, and a revolver cannon. Here are some booklets about the plane’s capabilities.”
