Statement on the XKI Embassy Closure

On the evening of December 15th, the Delegate of 10000 Islands, HumanSanity, informed me that their government has officially decided to terminate formal relations with The North Pacific. This decision appears to have come about due to a lack of common interests between the regions, assisted by a culmination of events that have pushed us apart as time has progressed, thus rendering this relationship unsustainable. We therefore respect XKI's sovereignty to make this decision.

Normally, one might lament about the history of the relationship and give best wishes for future diplomatic interactions, however this is not necessary given there is very little positive to say about this relationship and the interactions it has yielded over the past months.

Going forward, we are recalling our ambassador and closing our forum and in-game embassies effective immediately. All agreements contingent on relations existing have also been terminated.
 
Finally.

Also, I would just like to remind the delegate that exemptions under Section 7.6 Clause 32 of the Legal Code don't require RA approval:
32. When deployed in a foreign region, The North Pacific Army will act with respect towards the natives of the region, and refrain from excessive use of force including altering the regions chosen embassy list or password protecting the region. Before leaving, The North Pacific Army must provide natives with the means to restore the region to its original state. Exceptions to this clause must be publicly authorised by the Delegate when it is in the best interests of The North Pacific or its allies.

These two things are entirely unrelated.

We only really had embassies with them because they are huge. Nothing was gained on either end.
