RPer's Note: The purpose of this RP is to determine which characters, events, and other items of Lawston's now-defunct canon will carry on in limited continuity in my new RP nation Makopa, which replaced Lawston.
Malasumbang is a Tagapanon astronomical term for the moon when it begins a new phase. In Diwanism, it is when celestial warrior Haliya, the First Moon Deity, continues her lonely watch since the last moon cycle of the old lunar phase while waiting for her four siblings to return. Haliya is the only sibling who stays on the moon to ensure Bakunawa, the Great Moon-eating Dragon, which she personally defeated in the Great Deluge, stays away. Offerings are made to her at Mount Batanes, the most popular stargazing spot in Makopa. Offerings are also made in other mountain shrines dedicated to her across Makopa.
For native Makopans, Malasumbang symbolizes both the eternal and the mortal. Whether it is a curse, blessing, or by virtue of divinity, two things are clear to them: The eternal will stay forever and the mortal will not.

Today, he'd rather not be called. He doesn't want to hear anything at all after what happened at the meeting with the Sinusinu Board of Directors. How was it his fault for misplacing his pencil case for a bottle of water? He wasn't carrying his bag. Kaska was. That's his job as principal private secretary.

"Not necessarily. You can't expect change overnight..."
And why should anyone care if he still uses a pencil case? Whether or not he should've relied on Kaska to carry writing materials wouldn't mean a lot. The boy forgot his own pen.

"The civil service always assumes the Cabinet won't survive the current year, so monthly..."
Besides, isn't it enough Romi accidentally spilled water on the table? That's why, instead, at the very least, everyone should be glad. The water didn't spill on anything important.

"I agree. We ought to inspect, appraise, and evaluate the Kagawaran in every sense. What do you think, Kalihim?"
Honestly, Romi couldn't see the consequences of such a minor issue. It couldn't possibly to have become the kind of setback they all feared in the negotiations. If anything, the only people who should be worried about this are Bob der Donkmeister or Romi Ngipin. Kalihim Roming "Bob" Halili should be proud it all personal, not political.

That's what matters. Duty above self. Service to the Nation is everything to Romi... A little sacrifice for any politician...
"Uh... Kalihim? Is everything okay?" Kaska asked, hovering his pen above the papers he had prepared for this meeting.
Bob didn't realize it, but his eyes have been closed the entire time. Looking at his two subordinates, Kaska and Ginang Bondoc, he remembered they were supposed to begin the first meeting of their monthly review of the Kagawaran ng Turismos at Teknolohiyang Pang-Informasyon at Komunikasyon.
"I'm sorry...I didn't sleep well last night. So...umm...where are we in the agenda?" Bob looked at Ginang Bondoc.
She smiled at him. "...Are you still thinking about the Water Bottle Incident, Kalihim?"
"Yes."

Ginang - Tagapanon equivalent of "Mrs."
Kagawaran - Tagaponon word used to name government departments.
Kagawaran ng Informasyon, Komunikasyon, at Turismos - "Department of Information, Communications, and Tourism"
