What’s that? Readers from The North Pacific and beyond what to hear of the action-packed events of N-Day? And they want an explanation for all this potato talk that’s been buzzing all around the universe of NationStates? There were the struggles, comebacks and attacks that were packed into this day of fighting (with a touch of radiation). They want more? Well then keep on reading along and you too will learn of the tale of N-Day, from the eyes of the potatoes.

As we begin our story, the potatoes had started off with a bang! Quite literally actually. Our strategy was for everyone to build up our shields. A defensive strategy. However, no defense would be able to hold back the Horsemen and their puppets. Launching nuke after nuke, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse launched an assault on us. Our allies, Fuster Cluck and The Augustin Alliance defended us to the best of their abilities, but even still it was not enough. We had been pulled dead last with one of the highest amounts of radiation at the time. 61,000.

Some of you readers may think that this was the end of the potatoes. There’s no hope left. We should give up. I can’t blame you for thinking that. Many in the potatoes felt defeated. But all of us were mistaken. For this is only the beginning of our story. The best was yet to come! After a couple of hours, and even despite our downfall, our generals still had some hope left, and we adopted a new strategy. Infiltration. We would leave our home and hide in the enemy’s. Once in their faction, our nations couldn’t be attacked by the Horsemen.

In the Horsemen, we built up our nukes. We’d stay until the order was given. Then it came. “Convert production to nukes! Rejoin the Potato Alliance! Target the Horsemen!”then, there was now a chance to get our revenge on those horses! Aiming our nukes we waited for the next order. “FIRE!” And we let them soar. After some volleys, we had struck them!

It had taken some more hours, and it would take some more, but we had finally hit the Horsemen! We continued to waste away their shields. And then there was the order. “We are reclaiming our homeland!” Now we could stay in our home and start building up those nukes! We were about to have revenge on the Horses! Along with Ba Sing Se, we targeted whatever we could at the Horsemen, and we began to fire at will. Hitting them again and again their radiation began to rise. And their score did the opposite. They tried to assault us again, but it wouldn’t be enough. Many shields had already been made, and we were safe.

Falling down the leaderboard, the Horsemen hit last. Eventually, it was too much for them. Too many nations were destroyed, and they just stopped shielding attacks. I must also mention our comeback. We came from the bottom, and through our strikes we had made it to the top ten! Remember when we had 61,000 radiation? The Horsemen got 821,000 radiation. Now that the enemy of all factions was gone, everyone used them as their striking ground to get some more points. Us potatoes also hit some smaller regions to get some points too.

The leaderboard had a shuffle between the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place spots, between the Augustin Alliance, Ba Sing Se, and us. We got up to first for a bit even! But as the day came closer and closer to a close, some rogues decided to strike us, though it wasn’t much of a problem. And once N-Day ended and the treaty was in effect, we got second place! Augustin Alliance got first and Ba Sing Se got third.

Even if we didn’t ultimately get the highest score, we certainly had a comeback no one had ever seen! And now, you readers know what N-Day is about. Our generals and soldiers had hope, and we got through the hardest times. But, even through the struggle, comeback, and attacks, it was a fun experience for all who participated. I hope that everyone who’s reading can join us in the next day of nuclear fun, N-Day#6!
