History Part-1: Ancient history, From 5 Cities to the conquest of Ghurl
How Ancient Certrinicus or more commonly known as "Ceurtonicus" by Historians (To differentiate the Modern Republic and the Old Empire) was founded is shrouded in mystery, though, according to Legend, The "All Lord" came down to Eras to Unite the warring Cities and bring peace to the Land, The 5 tribes that would each rule one city would unite to form a Federation, which the All Lord would rule, This is just a legend and there are many other strories that tell how Ancient Certrinicus was founded, though, It is so far proved impossible to find out how Ancient Certrinicus was actually founded.
Ancient Certrinicus would find enemies, plenty of them, as Ancient Certrinicus competed against other near-by Villages, though this period of time mostly consists of Steady Technological growth as Certrinicus would steadily become more and more advanced, This part of Certrinican history is very unclear, as most of the history of the time is mythical, and unknown. Certrinicus would slowly expand and establish new settlements and gradually expand it's territory. Though, Certrinicus at this time would not be a centralized state, it's government functioned like a democracy, where the People would vote for a mayor of their city, each city would have a mayor who would be in the Council of Cities, the Mayor would then vote for who becomes the "All-Lord", a person who would rule over all of Certrinicus, The All-Lord was mostly the mayor of the strongest city, though this would change when The warrior people known as the "Ghurl" would move south wards and attack Northern Cities in East Mesia.
But by 3400 Years before the Empire, the Ghurl were on the Door step of Certrinicus, Certrinicus prepared a defence force, but at the Battle of Burhn, the Certrinians would get obliterated, and the Capital of Certrinicus, Rudron would get sacked, This attack destroyed the knowledge of the ancient history, hence so much history is lost. The Ghurl would soon agree to peace, and a treaty was signed, this treaty would pretty much give away most of Certrinicus's northern land, while The Ghurl would become far stronger than ever before. Certrinicus was humiliated.
Certrinicus after the war was so humiliated, Certrinicus wanted to take back it's power, this has been called The Second Founding of Certrinicus by some historians as it changed Certrinican culture from a peaceful, pacifistic people, to an infuriated and vengeful people, "The Ghurl are a barbarian people from a far away land, they deserve no life, Certrinicus shall burn them and they shall die as the All-Lord shall reclaim Certrinicus's former glory, Our empire shall rise, The Ghurl shall never see the light of day as we sack their puny cities as fast as the sun rises at dawn!",
Soon enough a new All-Lord was elected, his name was Hurlious Ghurgham, He swore to bring back Certrinicus's former glory and destroy the Ghurl, and in a couple of years, this would become true, Hurlious's 19,000 strong army would march at the middle of the Night and at dawn they would attack a near by Ghurl town, but they did not simply take it over, they burned it to the ground, all of it's residents were killed without any mercy, as the news reached the Ghurl Capital, the people didn't believe it, It has to be a joke! Arrows that had a burning tip that would set fire to a forest? Ships larger than an armory? Surely the Certrinicans could not be that powerful! The Ghurl dismissed the news, This would be a devastating mistake made by the Ghurl.
At night, a Ghurl soldier in a tower, guarding The Capital Gruhl City, Hernohl, notices a torch in the forest, he says to a soldier beside him "Hey! Do you see that torch?, it just randomly appeared" The other soldiers says "Yeah I see that too....Oh wait now there's like 10 torches, wait there's a hundred now, Wha-what's happening?!" He says in a shocked and frightful manner "I-I don't know" Soon enough thousands of torches are visible, The men holding the torches are soon visible, they run at the walls and they start running towards the city entrance, the giant entrance door is broken by a giant rock that hits the entrance, the soldiers soon realize that these men are not from some far away land, but from Certrinicus, as they hear them saying "Glory to the Emperor! Glory to Certrinicus, We are undefeatable, We are inevitable, and We shall know no fear, In the name of the Emperor, in the Name of Certrinicus!" The City is soon set on fire, the Ghurl king and queen try to escape, but they soon realize, the entire city is surrounded by Certrinican soldiers, the people in the city are killed and burned to death as the Capital of Ghurl is sacked and destroyed until nothing reamians of it, but ruins of a once great city.
