- TNP Nation
- McMasterdonia
What the candidates say:
Together we will strengthen the institutions that guide and protect McMasterdonia. We are resolutely focused on what's next for McMasterdonia - our future is bright, with the right leadership and Senate cooperation with our King, we will ensure a bold future for our people." - Princess Fatima, Leader of the Alliance for McMasterdonia (AFM) Party
Our greatest moments as a nation and as a people, lie in our history. For too long, we have allowed ourselves to become creatures of globalism and have sacrificed our cultural identity. We will restore the supremacy of our nation on the world stage, and ensure the primacy of the Kianese Emperor in all national activity - Lord Demetrius, Lord Paramount of Ceduna and Leader of the Kianese Imperial Party (KIP).
The greatest toll of the past decade has been felt by the nations subjects, especially by the poor and by our children. It is our duty to live up to the promise of McMasterdonia for all people and reinvest in the social welfare that kept our people secure for so long. By advancing the cause of all of our people, we advance the interests, stability and endurance of our Kingdom - Sophia Strauzenberg, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Leader of the Liberal Democrats.
Polling
Polling continues to indicate that it is the Alliance for McMasterdonia's election to lose. Since polling began at the start of this year, the AFM has consistently polled above 50%. This is likely a result of the role of Princess Fatima in supporting the new King of McMasterdonia as well as the losses she personally suffered during the recent conflict where the Princess was held captive by the Archbishop for most of the war. Time will tell whether the Princess is able to hold together the broad coalition of political parties that have combined into the AFM.
The Kianese Imperial Party experienced a surge in popular support over the course of January and February following a number of public appearances by Lord Demetrius on national television networks. This was supported by the presence of the Lord at the coronation of King Darius and rumours of his influence on the monarch. Nonetheless, a series of gaffs in April have reduced support for the KIP. A number of KIP Senate candidates have been dis-endorsed from the political party following revelations of corruption and one circumstance of an undisclosed conviction for slander against the late Queen Matilda II.
Likewise the Liberal Democrats have continued to outperform expectations. Following a sudden collapse in the polls in February where it appeared that the Leader of the Party, Sophia Strauzenberg was advocating for a more republican form of government, the party has recovered marginally. The real question is whether the party is able to move up into second place or if it will continue to be relegated to third place in the general election.
