Governance

Council

Council is the University’s principal executive and policy-making body. It has members of the University Staff and others from outside the University. It is responsible for the academic policy and direction of the University, for its administration and management.

Divisions and departments

The University’s academic departments are grouped into four divisions: TNP & NationStates; Humanities; Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences; and Social Sciences. Day-to-day decision-making in matters such as planning and submissions is devolved to the divisions.

Chancellor

The Chancellor is the senior officer of the University, who is chosen by the Council.

Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor is the second-in-command to the Chancellor, who is also chosen by the Council.
The Vice-Chancellor serves on the University staff.
