Sirens blared through West Pigletville, known to most as "Hogtown". A nine year old with long brown hair ran from her childhood home.
"Emily!!! Emily!!!", screamed her father through the gunshots.
A crime syndicate had just killed her mother, and her father did nothing to stop them. It was because of his mess that she was now running to freedom, wherever that may be.
She looked up toward the capital of Pigletville, the Diamond City. A huge tower dwarfed the remaining skyscrapers in the city. It was none other than the Ministry of Information Tower. It was a symbol of hope to the people of Hogtown. That freedom would come to those in the light of the city.
She suddenly heard footsteps behind her. It had to be the bad guys again. She put up her fists and prepared for a fight.
"Get the hell away from me," she screamed as they approached. The men came out from the alleys and aimed their guns at her. This was it for her. She was destined to die young.
"Drop your weapons," said a woman's voice behind her. The woman had a maroon suit on and a mask. She was accompanied by a man wearing the same thing.
"Says who?" said one of the guys, ready to fire on the girl.
"My name is Agent Lyra with the Krieg Clan. This girl is one of our own. You will not dare to harm her," said the woman, as the duo moved in front of the girl.
"This is the daughter of the Calypso crime lord. We were dispatched to take him and his family out," said one of the guys.
"Well your mission's over. Go back to whatever hole you crawled out of," said the woman. The woman turned to the girl and nodded toward one of the alleys.
"What'd you say?" said one of the men, cocking his gun.
"Run!" screamed Lyra before her and the other man began to fire their guns.
The girl ran as fast as she could toward the alley and toward freedom. This was it. She had her eyes on the tower.
Many years had passed, and that girl was now a young woman. She had a shaved head and was in handcuffs, being escorted to a trial.
"Get your fucking hands off of me," she yelled to the cops as they escorted her.
"You're not helping your case any, Miss-" began the cop.
"You're not helping--gosh you sound like my mother. Oh wait, she's dead," mocked the woman.
The woman was escorted through the courtroom doors, and forced to sit down.
"Your next case is here, Judge Calumnia. She wouldn't shut up the entire way here," said the officer.
The woman looked up at the viewing stands, and the Guslant cabinet began to make their way into the courtroom. Notably Chancellor Hall, Minister Beier, and Associate Minister Burns. They took their seats as the judge began to speak.
"I'm glad everyone could make it this afternoon. This case is regarding the charges against a colonel in the Guslantis Armed Forces, Colonel Emily--" he began.
"Akerman," stated the woman, interrupting him.
"Miss Akerman, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me speak," said Calumnia.
"And I'd appreciate it if I wasn't in handcuffs, but hey, that's what I'm doing, so, yeah," she replied.
"Your charges are for collusion with the crime organization known as the Krieg Clan, how do you plead?" asked the judge.
"Not guilty," said Akerman, confidently.
"Very well. I'll let the prosecution begin its argument," said the judge.
"Damn politicians," mumbled Akerman.
