Predice was first inhabited in around 500AD, by the Umbrials from Imperium Augustum. Predice found some at first unwelcome visitors about a century later. Despite the best efforts of the many lords of the Predice, the so called Nordisti could not be beaten. The Battle Albeno Bridge shattered any hope of defeating the Nordisti. An entire Royal House of Predice was wiped out. Negotiations were made. The Duchy of Savony (Called Mavoia in Predice) would be granted independence. Begrudingly the Prediceans slowly began to open up and befriend their enemies, however by the 800s the Duchy of Savony was collapsing into itself. By 871, many Predicean Lords once again came down on it. One such lord was Septimius. Although a mere low level knight in 871, he would prove himself in battle, and was elevated to the Count of Mavoia in 884, he started the House of Mavoia or Casa Mavoia in Predicean.
By 1000 this burgeoning County had independence, and by 1071 it was a Duchy again. Of course there were other states in Predice by this point, including the Most Serene Republics of Alessano and Antofagosta, both fabolously rich by the 1200s. These were the political centrepieces of Predice and constituted the 2 largest cities. By the 1300s, wars between many Predicean lords was tearing the region apart. The Duchy of Mavoia gained some land but at a high cost. By the 1500s, however this changed. Syrixian warships were spotted in 1544*, and many Predicean states formed the Predicean league to oppose the Syrixians. The battles were hardfought and brutal. Eventually even the gem of Alessano was sacked in 1550*, leaving Antofagosta as the last standing Predicean power. Antofagosta, exhausted by war prepared to put up its last fight. The Duchy of Mavoia meanwhile though, submitted peacefully. The Syrixian fleet beats the Antofagostan fleet, and the Siege of Antofagosta begins via sea and land. The Siege was a long one. For 3 years the fortifications held, for 3 years, the last bastion of Predicean Independence held, but it was for nought. By 1553* the last Doge of Antofagosta surrendered the keys to the city to the conquering Syrixian Emperor. The Syrixians would sack Antofagosta. The era of Predicean self rule was for now over. The Syrixians would build a new grand Imperial Capital for Predice, Nuevo Antofagosta (lit. New Antofagosta). Predice was notably the spot where Rajesh I's Grand Fleet would set off from, to conquer Esplandia. Predice by the late 1800s was seeing increasing Nationalism. Rich Predicean Merchants were the decendants of many Royal Houses of Predice. One of them was Carlo Di Mavoia, who in 1871 was elected to the spot of Grand Doge of the newly freed Most Serene State of Predice by the Signoria Imperiale, consisting of many Predicean Nobles. Predice would remain a dual Monarchy under the Emperor, however. Predice was an Oligarchic Constitutional Monarchy (Oligarchic because much of the political power of the country was held by rich businessmen) from around 1876-1934, when the Fascist Giorgio Mahendate deposed the Doge and Emperor, and declared himself the Regent for Life of the Kingdom of Predice. It would join the Fascist War, a disasterous endeavour, which would end with Predice in ruins. The 1950s was reconstruction and rebuilding for Predice, but by 1965 Predice was shook for a second time when the Party of the Republic staged a rebellion across Predice. The Monarchy, was again swiftly deposed, and the Predicean Republic was Declared. It wouldn't last long, however as by 1977 the Republic Crumbled into Civil War, and although the Republicans came out on top by 1986, it was no longer a republic, under the Iron Grip of a Supreme Director. In 1994 a crippling Communist Rebellion rose, the Red Brigades quickly overwhelmed the Predicean Republican Guard, and by 1996 Predice was under a Communist One-Party State. This began to change, however as in 2010 the Predicean Army, already disgruntled saw itself slowly being replaced by the People's Militia. The Syrixian Government helped pay a few bribes to a few Generals. The Army was on their side now. Both the Xentheridans and Syrixians would join the Prediceans in their deposition of Communism. This was accomplished after 6 months of fighting. The Mavoias made their grand reentrance to Nuevo Antofagosta. In 2013, after just 3 years of rule in Predice itself the Doge, Giorgio I abdicated in favour of his son, who took the name Giorgio II.
