Military of Balanest

The Armed Forces of Balanest are composed of three branches:

Army
The army has a regular strength of 55000 men, with reserves of 45000 making a total of 100000. The normal weapon is the 5.56mm L85W-80.

The sidearm carried by officers is the K-Colg 19, firing a 9mm bullet.

Air Force
Aeromoto A-167 fighter aircraft x 60

Capable of both air superiority operations with the modern AMI-220 missile and a 20mm cannon and ground attack missions with up to 2000lbs of ordnance, the A-167 is a versatile aircraft, providing the backbone of Balanest's fighter fleet.

Balania AH-28 (Attack Helicopter Mark 28) x 44

This helicopter, armed with air to surface guided weapons, and with modern avionics, is capable of many roles, including combat operations, transport, and remote command.

Organisation:
There are three groups in the air force:

1 Group under Air Vice Marshall Howe:
1 Squadron (Combat): 12 X A-167
2 Squadron (Attack): 24 X A-167
3 Squadron (Transport): 24 X AH-28

1 Group is ready for overseas or domestic operations with 24 hours notice, ready to defend our interests around Eras.

2 Group (Army Support) under Air Vice Marshall Roe:
4 Squadron (Close Air Support): 20 X AH-28
5 Squadron (Attack): 12 X A-167

2 Group is designated to support land forces.

3 Group (Defence) under Air Vice Marshall Claus
6 Squadron: 12 X A-167
7 Squadron: 12 X A-167

3 Group operates Quick Response missions to defend Balanest from any hostile aircraft.
