At the end of the season, the division's leaders face the other division, and then to the Siene Bowl. The SSA will operate on a basis of 30 weeks, playing each team twice during the season and having the top 4 at the end play each other in a seeded basis, with each semi-final for double value and the final for quadruple points value. My heart was racing. We are down by 3, after our kick on the last drive was good. Eastern Bay had scored a pick 6 already, but we had stopped them on their 2-point conversion. Now, here I am, after Cory Robertson caught a pass late in the fourth quarter. Exhausted, I walk up to the huddle, and I say two words. Hail. Mary. With just under a minute on the clock, our four Wide Receivers, plus Tony Alzares, my faithful Halfback, we hit the 50 yard line. Great. They think we are gonna run some play action here, obviously in the man coverage. Jeff Torozos, Sr., snaps the ball to me, and out of the corner of my eye, I see Cory Robertson, playing both sides of the ball, beat his man. After that interception, I have some faith in him. I quickly run out of the pocket, making it look as if I am running it. Then, I shoot Cory a long ball. A very, very, long ball. Then, I hit the ground. I here a whistle, then the crowd cheers. I see nothing, pitch black. I am short of breath now. I feel a hand, it's moderately warm and sweaty. Jeff Namiah is right there in my face. He spits, then leaves my sight. Thankfully, I hear the ref ejecting him from the field of play. We huddle back up, with the clock burning down. 6 to 9, Thunder beating the Sharks. We call for the kick. Slow as always, Victoer Goezalea calls for the ball and places it on the ground. Matt Boering kicks it high up. Divisional Champion, here I come.
