Only a single week away from the General Election, the 59 Seats of the National Congress are being fought for. One of the people running for office is Madeira Jamhes, 39, running for South Bay's First Seat, the eastern portion of South Bay City. She is a member of the Siene Rheugati Party, which branches off of James Rheugati, one of the Founding Fathers of this nation, and his beliefs. If she is elected, she will be the first Member of Congress that is a female AND the first member of Congress that does not speak Mercanti as their First language; she instead speaks Cimmerian. When SNN interviewed her, Madeira said "[We] want to reform our political system, [as] our way of Congress isn't [up] to speed with the rest of the world. The goal for the Rheugati Party this year is [to] get a majority coalition with the Communists; but still have a major say in our parliamentary system." Another, highly different politician is SFP member John Harttreigh, going for Jaqua's First Seat, also called "The Neck of the Woods", as it is the least populated and least important to national politics. Only four candidates are running for that seat, out of the total 8 parties. Harttreigh said last night in a debate that "I am hoping to continue the SFP's legacy down here in this part of the country. Our government is not representative enough of our farmers and more towards the big-city folk on the "Bay". Jaqua is the least populated state, but it certainly will be the only state where all of the seats go to a single part[y]."
