When it comes the time for the people to rise up against the forces which have governed them for centuries, and to join one another in the fight to establish their equal status with those forces, it rests on their honor to declare their intentions and sentiments.
We find that it is undeniable, that all are born before the Goddess with equal rights, and that the institutions constructed to rule them have the duty, responsibility, and authority to protect the rights of their subjects, and when the time comes when these institutions are perverted against these ends, it is the right of the people to overthrow them and replace their rulers with institutions founded on the principles of Liberty and Justice.
The History of the Plembobrians under the rule of these many Houses is one fraught with abuse, tyranny, war, and injustice. We declare to the world the reasons for our fight:-
For quartering large bodies of armed troops among us.
For protecting them, by a mock trial, from punishment for any murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these states.
For imposing excessive taxes on the people.
For arresting the people without warrant to be tried for pretended offenses.
For depriving the people, in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury.
For abolishing the rights of freemen.
For establishing arbitrary governments, and enlarging their boundaries by meaningless war.
For taking away our holdings, abolishing our most valuable property rights.
For suspending our own courts, and declaring themselves invested with power to rule for us in all cases whatsoever.
For plundering our seas, ravaging our coasts, burning our towns, and destroying the lives of our people.
For constraining our fellow people taken captive to become the executioners of their friends and brethren, or to fall themselves by their hands.
We therefore declare our Intention, to bring forth upon the land of Plembobria, ONE NATION, under a new King, committed to principles of Liberty and Justice and Brotherhood.
We appeal to the Empire of Kian, for the support of our struggle against tyranny and injustice, and to establish one united kingdom within the Empire with sovereign rights and privileges.
Together we pledge to each other our lives, our swords, and our sacred honor.
