Gunfire.

Screaming.

Panic.

Krystina dropped what she held and ran, her heart was racing and her body was filled with adrenaline. Near to Krystina, a group of young women, maybe Sireszski tourists, were screaming hysterically and breaking down on the spot. One was shot in the eye as Krystina ran past, blood splattered all over the group.

Krystina wanted to gag and throw up from the sight, but she couldn’t, there wasn’t time. She had to run. Run. All around her people were swarming and screaming and running and-

Screaming.

Panic.

Krystina fell to the ground, blood was leaking from the side of her head. She’d been shot. She was going to die...

Kaleta opposition leader Prince Krystina Nowaski has been assassinated in a shooting in Kalety’s historic Uroczysty-Plac.

Prince Nowaski - one of the most important women in Kalety’s political history and leader of the Kaleta Konserwatysta Party (KKP) - was leaving a business meeting when an unknown gunman opened fire on her and killed her in the city’s primary plaza.
The shooting began at around 1323 near the Plac Clocktower, where Prince Nowaski was reported to be resting at the time, and was a tourist attraction with lots of crowds. She was later killed at around 1328 when the shooting stopped soon thereafter.

At least two other people were killed in the shooting, with over ten others injured and in intensive care.

Grand Prince Antoni Dobrowski has urged the citizens of Kalety to remain calm, amongst what his administration has dubbed as a terrorist attack. However, a significant portion of the Kaleta populace believe the attack is a government-organised assassination rather than a terrorist attack.
Assumptions of conspiracy are due to Prince Nowaski being the leader of the KKP since 2008, acting as the ruling party’s primary rival. The assassination came only two weeks after election campaigning began in Kalety.

National security forces have been placed on a state of ‘red alert’, resulting in heightened military presence in the city and tightened borders, among other effects.

A period of national mourning has been declared for the 12th and 13th of April, all schools, colleges, universities, banks, and government offices will be closed during this period.

The Kingdom of McMasterdonia is deeply saddened to hear of the terrorist attack that occurred earlier today in Kalety's historic Uroczysty-Plac. We mourn the tragic loss of life that has occurred, including that of Prince Nowaski, the two civilians, and the thoughts of all McMasterdonians are with the remaining injured civilians.

No McMasterdonian nationals were injured or killed as a result of this attack. The Kingdom of McMasterdonia will continue to provide consular assistance to McMasterdonians caught up in the attacks and to their loved ones

This attack is part of a pattern of reckless disregard for human life that is demonstrated by terrorist organisations across Eras at a growing rate and with an increased boldness in recent times. These acts and their perpetrators represent a growing threat to international security, the rights of sovereign nations and their citizens, and the international rules-based order to which all actors are responsible. The Kingdom of McMasterdonia remains committed to assisting it's allies to deter terrorist activities and to formulate a vigorous and robust response to tackle terrorism cells as they arise.

The Kingdom of McMasterdonia will overhaul the McMasterdonian Criminal Code to strengthen the offences surrounding espionage, treason, sedition, terrorism and associated conspiracy charges. We encourage all Eras states to do the same.

Today is a sad day. The event of terrorism that occurred in Kalety is horrific. We as a nation should support them in every way we can. I will personally support Kalety and will push for others to as well. Terrorism is becoming an increasing threat that cannot be taken lightly. Who knows what could happen to us. These will be difficult times up ahead but I assure you that I will all ways try and protect my people and our friends.

The people of Tommatito are majorly in support of aiding Kalety.

Lihau Kani smirked just before he pulled the trigger. Not that it mattered. He was far enough away that no one would see. His muscles from his finger to his elbow tensed up just before he pulled the trigger, but his whole body felt fluid afterwards.
He barely registered that the target was down before moving on. The tenseness he felt as he pulled the trigger the first time was gone- now he fired away. One. Two. Three... Gotta confuse the local authorities. Make them unsure if what was happening was a terrorist attack, an assassination, or just the random outburst from a nut with a gun. That was the boss' orders.

Then silence. Only the faint sounds of sirens. Only seconds after he had begun? It was over and the fluid feeling he felt as he shifted between targets- after his primary objective- was over. Almost as if coming out of a lucid dream. He quickly recovered though, dismantling his sniper rifle and quickly but carefully securing the case before tossing his cap aside, tearing off the black fatigues that covered a janitor's uniform.
He secured the dingy case that held his dis-assembled rifle into the the janitor's cart that awaited him once he returned to the building's top floor, switching that cart with that of another janitor as the entire staff stood awestruck watching the chaos of what he had just done unfold.

He feigned shock as he watched. He had all the time in the world. The boss wasn't going to call. Not yet. He'd report later tonight.

SUBJECT: Assassination of Prince Nowaski

The State Department and the greater Imperial Government has been informed that Prince Nowaski of Kalety, as well as two civilians, have been murdered by an unknown armed assailant in the Uroczysty-Plac at around 1:23 PM. As a longtime ally and friend to the Kaleta government and the people of Kalety, we are deeply saddened to hear of these atrocities. Our prayers are with Kalety at this time.

Should the Kaleta government desire it, the Empire shall offer assistance in the form of humanitarian aid, as well as increased intelligence cooperation, in order to find and apprehend whomever is responsible for today's heinous acts of terror. The Empire shall not stand for terrorism, whether it occurs in its own borders, in the borders of its allies, or any other nation. The culprit will be brought to justice.

May Prajapati bless the souls of the fallen and provide for the health and safety of the injured and all else harmed by this grievous attack.
