A New Constitution

On March 9th, the King and Queen did deliver to the Kingdom of Merridel a new decree. This decree consisted of a new constitution intended to govern the Kingdom of Merridel. This new constitution introduced sweeping reforms, granting to the Crown of Merridel near unlimited power. The Crown has been declared the founts of all authority, the final arbitrators of all disputes, and now they possess the ability to change the regional government as willed, regardless of input from the States-General. One would expect widespread outrage at this sweeping curtailing of the rights of the Third Estate, however the changes have been met with popular support. The New Constitution has been commended for putting the reins of leadership into the hands of Monarch(s). No longer will we be stalled by election cycles and ineffective leadership. Merridel will live and die by the House of Moltera.

The Small Council is Getting Bigger

March has been a busy month in the Kingdom of Merridel and its Small Council. In this month we have had the election for High Sentinel, where our most lovely Queen Artemis Moltera triumphed. She quickly assumed the World Assembly Delegacy in due time. Furthermore, Thomas Insaniac has been appointed as Minister of Foreign Relations for the Kingdom of Merridel. He is joined by Duck of Dragons who will serve as Minister of Recruitment for the Kingdom. Another appointee to the Small Council is Pogorevka, who shall serve as the High Commissioner for World Assembly Affairs. This growth of the Small Council is further joined by recruitment boons and activity in the ministries themselves. The Ministry of Foreign Relations has actively recruited staff to serve as Ambassadors, representing the Kingdom in foreign lands. Likewise, the other ministries have been actively recruitment staff members to facilitate their operations; all while the High Sentinel continues to collect endorsements and grow the Kingdom’s World Assembly presence.

The Kingdom of Merridel has been enjoying steady growth during the month of March. We once more crossed the 100 nation threshold on March 11th and we have continued to grow throughout the month. Alongside an increase in the number of nations who call Merridel home, we have seen an increase in World Assembly participation. Our High Sentinel continues to collect endorsements and increase influence. Furthermore, the regional Discord of Merridel has continued to grow in terms of activity. We have found it necessary to increase the number of channels and increase the amount of moderation present due to the constant growth enjoyed by the region.
