Cities of the Principality
The city of Seta is the ancestrial home of the ruling House of Yuki; the provincial capitol of Mei. It is the second largest city of Yukkira, second only to Southern Nioki. The city is famous for its local cuisine, the Inn, A Thousand Wishes, and its extensive national parks and beaches.
Seta never sleeps. As the day draws to a close, another part of Seta begins to awake. The night time entertainment in Seta is second, only to Xia's Underground. Because as the daylight crowd starts to wane, the nightlife crowd begins to wake. Entertainers for bars and restaurants, closed during the day, quickly begin their performances for their own kind of crowd. Tourism spots only available after the sun has gone down begin to start their tours. One might observe that even certain Nobles are only found openly at night. Including, rumor has it, the Crown Princess herself.
Home to the House of Yuki's Palace, Mount Takahashi was once thought to be where the fabled child between the Red Emperor's daughter and the Noble she dared to wed was born. A serene height with a running river that leads to a waterfall, Mount Takahashi is an untamed wilderness owned exclusively by the House of Yuki. Tourists are allowed to explore the small mountain range along designated paths; separate to those that only the Yuki may use. The consequences for attempting to explore those pathways forbidden to outsiders has never truly been explained. Mostly because no one knows where those paths are located.
A Thousand Wishes is probably the most influential inn in not just Seta, but all of Yukkira. Located across the street from the main ministerial headquarters for the ancestral province of Mei, which in and of itself is but a short drive away from the House of Yuki's palace, A Thousand Wishes has played host to a vast amount of influential individuals. Having stood for nearly eight-hundred years, the inn had hosted the High Princes when the 15th High Prince of the House of Yuki united the warring kingdoms, ending an era of eternal conflict between the historic provinces of Mei, Katan, and Yui. It also hosted the Malorian Emperor during the 1600s where, over cups of goroshi, he offered critical help to the Imperial Court in its fight against the Remnant. And thereafter that, during the 1800s, it hosted the Goyanean Emperor when the Kingdom of Goyanes took over from Maloria as the Principality's colonial liege. Throughout the ages, the inn has truly lived up to its namesake.
A thousand wishes were made of the Most Noble House of Yuki; yet a very choice few were ever granted.
The Palace of the Most Noble House of Yuki has been standing since time immemorial. The palace was built during the 2nd High Princess' reign which was upgraded from the small manor that now serves as the servant quarters. The palace itself has an expansive leveled courtyard, with the building itself built towards the back of a mountain. The palace itself was breached on multiple occasions for multiple reasons. During the 2nd War of the Cherry Blossoms that occurred during around the 3rd century, Katani troops flanked around the palace and caused a mudslide that poured what seemed to be half a mountain top onto the palace itself. In the initial siege against Yuian troops, for six days, they beset the palace. On the seventh, after wheeling a second battering ram up to the gateway, the massive doors finally broke allowing the Yuians to enter the courtyard. The palace itself was burned down at least twice, it was always rebuilt in the image of its former glory. And to this day, the Palace of the Most Noble House of Yuki, stands as a testament of the will exclusive to they who sit upon the Golden Throne of the Most Glorious Principality of the State of Yukkira.
Current Residents:
Titles: Mother to the Children of the Principality, High Princess of the Most Noble House of Yuki, Lord of the Most Noble Dynasty-Kingdom of Mei, Supreme Lord-General of the IYG, High Regent of the Regency, Rightful Claimer to the Golden Throne and Empress of the Most Glorious Principality of the State of Yukkira
