Statement on Recruitment Policy Changes
The government of The North Pacific is announcing the following change to our policy on recruitment:
With immediate effect, we are extending permissible recruitment to include recruitment from within The North Pacific by any of the four regions of Balder, Lazarus, Osiris, and The Rejected Realms (sinker regions), in addition to recruitment by user-created regions.
This extension is exclusive to sinker regions, and does not include The Pacific, The East Pacific, The South Pacific, and The West Pacific (feeder regions). Additionally, this extension does not indicate any intention by The North Pacific to recruit from within either sinker or feeder regions, unless that happens after a mutual agreement with these regions to that effect. Finally, recruitment by sinker regions is subject to the same conditions regarding recruitment spam and other forms of prohibited recruitment as recruitment by user-created regions. These conditions are outlined in the Recruitment Policy we have been maintaining since 2014.
This extension comes after consultations with sinker governments. The extension is in recognition of the fact that sinker regions do not enjoy the same benefits as feeder regions in terms of a steady stream of new and active nations, due to the lower likelihood that refounded nations will become engaged within the sinker region they are refounded in. We hope that sinker regions will take advantage of this opportunity to recruit on the same terms as user-created regions, and that this will have a positive long-term effect in their activity and stability. We also encourage our feeder peers to consider taking similar measures and permit sinker recruitment from among their newly spawned nations.
