The use of military might in the region of Mouxordia dates back to approximately 1413, which was the establishment of a royal protection force for the Kingdom of Mosho. During the Great Mouxordian War between the Kingdoms of Mosho and Ordja, which eventually became the War of Foundation. Many speculate when, exactly, the Great Mouxordian War morphed into the War of Foundation, but most historians agree it was when the militaries of both Mosho and Ordja joined the fight against the oppressive royal houses. When Mouxordia was founded, so was its Armed Forces. They consist of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force (which fall under the authority of the Department of Defense), and the National Police (which falls under the authority of the Department of the Interior.) Totaling 100,020 active duty personnel and 50,500 personnel in reserve status, it accounts for approximately .005% of the total population of Mouxordia. Though small, Mouxordia's Armed Forces are considered highly disciplined and a ferocious fighting force, combining modern technologies with skill and expertise.
The Mouxordian Department of Defense (abbreviated as 'MDoD' or, within the context of the Mouxordian military, as 'DoD'), is an executive branch department of the government of Mouxordia charged with coordinating and supervising all agencies and functions of the government concerned with national security and the Mouxordian Armed Forces (with the exception of the National Police). It is headquartered at the Defense Building, 1541 Šudna Ulica, Cerštuva. The Department of Defense is headed by the Secretary of Defense Đuro Petar Radulović, a cabinet-level (Vlada) head who reports directly to the President of Mouxordia.
The Mouxordian Army protects the vital national interests of the Republic and defends the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state. With over 200 tanks and 750 supporting transport vehicles, the Army maintain a mobile and versatile force prepared to meet any threat to the Republic.

The Mouxordian Navy is tasked with protecting the territorial waters of the the Republic as well as the interests of its government abroad. Comprised of 41 warships and 230 aircraft, with 11 more ships either under construction or planned for construction, it carries out missions in both littoral and blue waters (shallow and deep waters, respectively).

The Mouxordian Naval Jack is a variation on the Mouxordian National Ensign, where the stripes have been replaced with an anchor. While underway, it is flown from the mainmast of the ship. In-port, it is flown from the jackstaff at the bow of the ship in accordance with base colors procedures.

The Mouxordian Marines are a branch of the Armed Forces that falls under the authority of the Mouxordian Navy, serving in an amphibious assault and naval infantry role. As such, their branch chief is the same as that of the Navy's - Admiral Faust Jan Soka? - but a designated flag officer serves as the highest-ranked officer in the Marines, and advises their Navy counterpart of any Marine matters, serving as a specialist and subject matter expert. Unable to have legally-binding representation as a branch chief, they are given the title of Commandant.

The Mouxordian Air Force serves to ensure the sovereignty of air space of the Republic and to provide aviation support to other branches in the implementation of their tasks in joint operations. It consists of 1,322 aircraft - a combination of planes and helicopters - to carry-out its attack, defense, and support missions. It is noteworthy to mention that General Bilandži? is the first female to serve in a branch chief position in the Mouxordian Armed Forces.
Na?elnik Zrakoplovnih Operacija (Chief of Air Operations): General Zbora (General) Viktorija Ena Bilandži?
The National Police of Mouxordia are a federal-level branch of law enforcement power in the Republic. Although legally and practically not an international military fighting force, they are usually and formally grouped with the rest of the Armed Forces. This is because, operationally, they conduct affairs related to public peace and order, affairs related to security of public gatherings, affairs of the border police, affairs of safety of road traffic, affairs of counter-explosive protection, affairs of the criminal police, crime-technical affairs, crime-files affairs, administrative affairs, nationality-related affairs, status questions and asylum, affairs of protection and rescue, inspection affairs and technical affairs - all matters that the other branches of the Armed Forces cannot (due to legal jurisdiction) or are unable to address.
It should be noted that the Police are not a part of the Department of Defense like the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force. The National Police fall under the jurisdiction and oversight of the Department of the Interior, and thus report to a different Secretary - Secretary Danijela Tatjana Majcen. Though federally-organized and mandated, most of the minutia is decided at a state or even municipal level.
