ALSO NOTING that violations and abuses of said technologies affect all individuals, including children and teens who are vulnerable and have yet to understand the true power of digital technology.
RECOGNIZING the need to further discuss and analyze on the promotion and protection of the right to privacy through the digital community.
EXPRESSING the importance to fully respect the right to seek, receive, and impart information and access to information and/or nation governmental participation.
RECALLING that the right to privacy is an important exercise of free expression, as it contributes to an individual's ability to contribute in the development of political, economic, social, and cultural life as digital technology contributes heavily to enjoying these rights.
CONCERNED of the increase in individuals not providing consent for the collection of personal data, but it still occurring regardless.
CONCLUDING that the international populations’ right should be equal in the online and offline community, including the right to privacy.
So we, of the World Assembly, do call upon all our fellow member nations to,
1. RESPECT and PROTECT the right to privacy through digital communications and technologies
2. REVIEW practices, procedures, and legislation on how their government provides surveillance towards communications, interception, and collection of personal data to uphold the rights of privacy under international law.
3. REMEDIATE said practices and procedures to better suit the development of digital technology stated from previous legislation.
4. RESTRICT nations from requiring businesses to interfere with digital privacy rights in unlawful ways towards their employees.
So we declare as the World Assembly.
