Henry Milton marched with his personal escort and Chief Tambani trailing behind him. He held a paper in his hand that would change everything. This position change would allow the nation to be firmly in his control. Jefferson was quite unaware of the chief being invited to their meeting, just as Milton had intended.
The double doors to the President's office had swung open and Milton stepped inside as Jefferson was taken back a bit. "Milton, glad you made it, but why do you have a small militia with you?" He joked, taking a sip of brandy from the desk and paging the secretary asking him to push back the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Riverside Park.
"Jefferson, the time has come during which there needs to be an adjustment in our power structure." He said bluntly, getting straight to the point. "I've talked to Chief Tambani and many representative officials in Zelgathon, including the parliament." He had lied about some of this and exaggerated it to an extent, but he needed to in order for his next move to work. "Recently you've been overstepping your boundaries and have become a nuisance, infringing on my responsibilities as Prime Minister. We also don't need a President who is simply a ribbon cutter, so today the parliament and I have decided that your services are no longer required."
He handed the bill over to a flabbergasted Jefferson. Jefferson was also a young man, only 32, but he was a married man. He wasn't sure how he was going to support his wife or break the news to her for that matter. "This must be some sort of joke, we've had this position for years." "Actually, we had a Chieftan position for years that had the current presidential responsibilities, only that was stripped from our people" interjected a disturbed Tambani, "We'd rather the position be eliminated than have to live with this new role created strictly for young suburbanites like you."
Milton took control again, "As of now I'll be adopting some of the presidential duties and Chief Tambani will be adopting a seneschal type role. But you're history Jefferson, you've got 1 week to move on."
Jefferson resisted, "And if I refuse?" Milton gestured to the men ready with firearms. "You forget that they serve me now, as does the rest of the military. Don't worry though Jefferson, I'm sure we can find you a job doing something around Zelgathon. Here's my card, call me in a month if you're still unemployed and I'll see what I can do for you."
"F*ck you Milton" a defeated Jefferson said, but by the end of the day, he had packed up and gone home. Milton then held a press conference announcing that the Prime Minister and Presidential positions had merged into one grand Chancellor position and that a minister of indigenous people position would be established shortly. Jefferson, watching this from his T.V at his apartment in Zelgathon City, vowed that he would take revenge, right after he finished another glass of Brandy.
