Lord Emmanuel:

Then what are your plans and improvements for the RA?
The way I see it, having an idea for an addition to our laws is simple. Acually writing that idea into the laws and then putting it up for debate and eventually vote is intimidating. And it is this issue that leads to a disinterest in the RA from an average citizen.
My plan to fix this is to create something reminiscent of the mentor program, but not quite the same. (This is a project maybe best run trough Home Affairs but as it pertains to the RA I feel it should also be at least partly the speaker's responsibility) There would be a "suggestion box" thread in the RA sub forum where people could put their idea for the change. Then we would have a group of volunteer writers who enjoy writing the laws and could act as a mouthpiece for ideas that have been suggested. Writers either could or couldn't be an official role.
Would you vote abstain on all legislation before the RA like Zyvetskistaahn did? In other words, what is your opinion on political neutrality of the Speaker?
I would continue in Zyvet's pattern and abstain, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
What is your opinion on the failed Citizenship Bill?
Simply, I disagree with the need to add any requirements. As to why, I think the process to become a citizen should be designed to be easy on the person becoming a citizen, not the prople processing that request. Somebody has to shoulder the workload of citizenship in such a large region. Personally I think that should be the admin staff (sorry guys).
Have you ever been a deputy speaker?
No
Maybe it's just me, but I haven't seen you around a lot on this forum recently. How do you accord that with the activity that is necessary in order to decently fulfill the duties of being Speaker for the four coming months?
I was taking a break from NationStates during the last term, if I continue my patterns from before that break I believe I will have plenty of time to complete my duties as speaker.
Do you already have people in mind to appoint as your deputies?
No, I was hoping to open applications after I was elected.
