A Foreign Interest report on the Armed Republic of Cogoria
The Armed Republic is a young nation when compared to the others of the North Pacific, having previously been the lands of the all powerful Czar the nation was reformed following the Great Revolution. An event thet lasted 20 years and cost the lands 50% of it's population. Through this harrowing ordeal a cold and hard people emerged, a people united under one ideal, equality for all. Adhering to strict communist doctrines they have dragged their nation from the wartorn gutter and put it somewhat to rights, under various leaders the Cogorian people have endured. However the absolute power of the Chairman led to corruption and greed, with each successive leader using the position for their own benefit, the people were understandably angered by this, but with the scars of the Revolution still seared into the nation's hearts few were willing to undo the great works.

Fearing the threat the of foreign interest posed to his new personal property, it was Chairman Zhao who closed the borders and severed contact with the outside world. Within the borders the country began to stagnate technologically and culturally. This pattern continued for the reign of three more Chairmen and one Chairwoman until the Current Chairman Zhukov came to power. Little to nothing is known of the chairman before coming he came to power, and little has been seen of him since, he occasionally makes public speeches in times of great importance but even these are usually done over the radio. Many a poster claiming to depict the current chairman show a plethora of different individuals, with the one sole confirmed picture of the man coming from a leaked security document (The source of the leak has since disappeared) Following intense investigation a rough history of the Chairman has been put together.

Pictures of a similar man can be found in the records of the 156th Motor Rifle Brigades 32nd Rifle Regiment, presumed to have been taken during his period of compulsory two year national service, the name listed is of one Pvt. Mikhail Suvorin. After this he can be traced to a school in Ferograd where he held the post of a history teacher. After two years teaching however he simply vanishes from public records, only to emerge 5 years later in 1998 as leader of the country with his predecessor being the one to vanish from record. In an interview with the then previous secretary for transport after his defection from the country a few elements of his rise to power came to light. The Chairman at some point became an asset of the Internal Intelligence Department, to what end and extent is unknown, but was able to secure a power base from within the IID by "Knowing where enough bodies were buried to silence any opposition". After securing power in what is now known to have been a silent coup, Chairman Zhukov/Suvorin began to clean house, 'vanishing' the old corrupt party members and elevating young ambitious and intelligent replacements in their stead. Once he had secured the seat of power he then began to evaluate what had caused the Revolution to take such a dark turn in the past, believing it to be the all corrupting power of greed and influence that came with the position of Chairman he set about removing such temptation. Reports from a former aide indicate the man works in a small office space within the governmental complex no larger than a standard office cubicle, and sets to his work as if he were still a teacher grading papers, the space is reportedly filled with stacks of reports and documents from across the country's many districts.

One of the first acts of the new regime was to reopen the borders and reestablish contact with the surrounding nations, the power house behind this new age of openness is Secretary Wrong, who is also temporarily acting in the role of an ambassador while the still new foreign ministry fills out it's ranks. However contrasting this openness and friendly face of Cogoria is it's pursuit of global revolution. While not openly acknowledged by the government funds and weapons in the hands of communist revolutionaries rebels and certain terrorist groups have been traced back to Cogoria, as they seem intent on 'liberating the global proletariat'.

Cogoria is currently undergoing a new industrial revolution, powered by the atom. Following the the discovery of vast deposits of monazite, Cogoria has begun extracting large quantities of Uranium and Thorium, and has refined them to fuel a number of civil nuclear reactors, finally completing the electrification of the nation started all the way back in the days of the last Czar This has led to massive progress in terms of technilogical advancement, but due to the number of years that the borders remained closed they still lag behind their neighbours in many fields. While nuclear power is a major part of Cogoria's economy now, they have yet to weaponise it. With the large number of nuclear powers surrounding it, it is believed they do not want to cause an unnecessary provocation.

This brings the report to the Cogorian military. With universal conscription the country is able to call upon a vast number of personnel. While the numbers are impressive the equipment is not. Wearing uniforms that have barely evolved since 1917 and lacking body armour the standard Cogorian infantry rely on their bravery and numbers to overcome any obstacle (WIP)
