BACKGROUND​

Kaitaine was created in 1377 when a Holy Order known as the Bene Gesserit sought out a homeland for their faithful. They believed that a society created around four Holy families was needed in order to create a Messiah figure who would be called the Kwisatz Haderach, this person would bring permanent peace to the world and end all suffering. As such society in Seitch grew from these four ruling families, each attempting to create their own powerbase among the populance. This has seen the Atreides, Harkonnen, Corrino and Fremen families establish large social networks to enable them to exert power. From 1788 onwards it was agreed that Seitch would be ruled by a four person committee known as the Landsraad with a representative of each family. Modern Seitchian society still revolves around these families and their entourages who are seen as the wealthier classes while those not directly connected to them are generally not so well off.

THE BENE GESSERIT FAITH[note]Not 100% sticking to the original[/note]

The Bene Gesserit (sometimes called the Sisterhood) faith is based on a belief that the Gods created certain humans with some attributes of the Gods. It also believes that one day it will be necessary for a supreme being to be born which will be a man that has all the power of the Gods. This man is referred to as the Kwisatz Haderach. This man shall lead the whole of humanity against a threat that would wipe out all life in the world, once successful he would reveal a new set of laws to humanity to lead them into a paradise upon Earth and ensure each person a place in the afterlife.

The Bene Gesserit faith believes that four families have been granted special insight into the Gods powers, these families are known as the Four Holy Houses and are the Atreides, Harkonnen, Corrino and Fremen families. The Bene Gesserit faith seeks to help these families realise their potential and bring about the creation of the Kwisatz Haderach. To do this the Bene Gesserit leadership has controlled the bloodlines of these families through inter-marriage in an attempt to breed a more godlike individual. They have also used the fact that all marriages in Kaitaine must be approved by the Sisterhood to ensure that any individual outside the four families who is believed to be favoured by the Gods is matched as perfectly as possible.

The Sisterhood is a lifelong commitment and people may join at any point, however many lower class families push daughters towards the Sisterhood as a way of increasing the families prestige as it opens many oppurtunities.

Spoiler: ORGANISATION OF THE FAITH

The faith is governed by the Reverend Mother, the faithful believe she is embodied with the power to identify traits given to people by the Gods. She is also the nations figurehead, and while having no political power she is highly influential. The Reverend Mother also is the person to appoint people to the various elements of the faith and approve marriages for the four families believed to be blessed by the Gods. She is based at Chapterhouse which is the central administration centre of the faith.

Girls are recruited into the Sisterhood from the age of four onwards and are educated at Chapterhouse in the mysterious, history and rituals of the faith. A person may join later but would then be expected to never be able to join certain aspects of the Sisterhood. The Sisterhood actively seeks girls to join who are believed in some way to be blessed by the Gods. The Sisterhood has four main bodies.

1. THE MOTHERS

The Mothers are the Priestesses, their role is to preach, teach and educate people about the faith. They also carry out rituals and lead congregations in prayers as well as organising festivals. The Mothers are educated for sixteen years and then become an Apprentice under an established Mother. Mother's can marry and have children but only with permission of the Reverend Mother, usually this is granted unless it is believed the candidate has the potential to one day be the Reverend Mother.

2. MISSIONARIA PROTECTIVA

These are a form of research body, they keep detailed family histories of important families beyond the Four Holy Houses as well as exploring the background of candidates for the Sisterhood. They also publish the faiths religious texts, journals and carry out much of the religious teaching at Chapterhouse. They are usually educated themselves at Chapterhouse for at least twelve years and are often consulted extensively before arranged marriages.

3. HONORED MATRES

These are members of the Sisterhood who have been viewed as being exceptionally blessed by the Gods. They are women who are expected to give birth to and raise the next generation of the Sisterhood. They act as concubines to The Four Holy Houses and have historically sometimes become wives in these families. More often they are granted as Concubines in order to breed exceptionally gifted Priestesses. The Reverened Mother arranges relationships between Honored Matres and the Four Holy Families when she believes a son is exceptionally blessed. They also act as pastoral carers to those girls being trained at Chapterhouse.

4. TRUTHSAYERS

This is the military order of the Sisterhood, while not traditional combat soldiers they serve as bodyguards to the Sisterhood, ensure the safety of Chapterhouse and actively defend the organisation from threats. In recent times this has seen them become active in cyber warfare as a way of protecting the Sisterhood's management systems. In the past they have fought alongside the nations military should the nation be threatened and rumours of a mysterious organisation within the Truthsayers known as the Swordsmasters who are rumoured to be spies and commandos.

TRAINING, RITUALS AND WORK​

Spoiler: Bene Gesserit Mothers

The Priesthood is referred to as Mothers. They enter Chapterhouse before the age of six and spend their lives until the age of 18 studying and in prayer. They are taught linguistics, History, Theology, Literature, Maths, Biology and focus on learning the teachings of previous Reverend Mothers

At the age of 18 each Mother drinks the "Water of Life" a mix of plant extracts that send the drinker into a hallucinogenic trance. They are observed during this trance and those deemed to be in the favor of the Gods are passed onto further study under the tutorship of a fully fledged Mother. Anyone deemed truly exceptional is tutored by the Reverend Mother and known as a Reverend Sister. Those failing the right of passage are either offered a position in the Missionaria Protectiva or Honored Matres, any unwilling to enter those trades leave the Sisterhood.

Most Mothers once qualified shave their head and dependent on their place of worship and own culture they wear an ornate head-dress. They often wear black and gold dresses, however the Reverend Mother is the exception, she wears green and grows her hair long.

Spoiler: Missionra Protectiva

These ladies enter Chapterhouse between the ages of 4-8, they act as a combination of a civil service and research arm of the Sisterhood. They are considered highly intelligent and have studied a wide range of subjects but a focus on Theology, History, Biology and Literature are key. They research the major houses, all noble's prior to marriage as well as carrying out archealogical and preservation works on artefacts.

At the age of 18 all potential Missionra Protectiva sit an extensive exam which they must pass, those failing are often offered positions within the Honored Matres or leave the order. Occasionally they are permitted to resit at the will of the Reverend Mother. The group also provide the majority of the teaching staff at Chapterhouse.

They wear a dark blue military style uniform while inside Chapterhouse or travelling on official business, often it is enough to get them access to the most sensitive of materials.

Spoiler: THE TRUTHSAYERS

The Paramilitary Wing of the Order they are highly trained soldiers, many would consider them commando's. Most enter Chapterhouse aged between 4-10. While at Chapterhouse they learn Theology, Maths, Geography, History, Science and Physical Education. From the age of eight they begin learning military subjects such as first aid, unarmed combat and map reading this progresses until by the age of 16 they would be considered competent soldiers. Like the military they wear uniform and have a rank structure. Anyone not deemed to have reached a sufficient standard of fitness or competency is offered a position in the Honored Matres or leaves the Sisterhood.

They serve as guards for Chapterhouse and other religious sites as well as provide security for the Reverend Mother. Occasionally they have fought alongside the regular military of Kaitaine.

There is a Top Secret element of the Truthsayers called the Swordmasters who receive extra training and serve as spies and assassins for the Sisterhood. They number less than 50 and not even they know who is a member.

Spoiler: HONORED MATRES

The Honored Matres are usually admitted to Chapterhouse at later ages than the other branches, the oldest usually being around 10 years of age. Often they are "gifted" to the Sisterhood by poorer families who know this presents an opportunity to exit poverty.

These girls are educated in Maths, Biology, Theology, Physical Education, Music and Art. They also receive training in child care and "domestic sciences". They are essentially conditioned to accept their roles as concubines to noble men. At the age of 18 they are often "gifted" to a noble whom the Reverned Mother believes is a good genetic match for them. Those being unpaired may be matched later or serve as pastoral carers for younger girls at Chapterhouse. They also receive advice on keeping their assigned nobleman happy both physically and mentally and are said to be exceptional lovers.

They wear a red trousered uniform with long shirt however upon being gifted they tend to only wear uniform on official occasions.

Their children take the surname Matres and are considered to be worthy of honour. Male children often are brought up within the noble family and join the military, female children are sent to Chapterhouse at the age of four.

THE FOUR HOLY HOUSES​

HOUSE ATREIDES​

[c]The House was the first that the Bene Gesserit named as Holy in 326 B.C. It was announced following claims by the then Reverend Mother that Duke Leo Atreides possessed the power of foresight.

The family have always traditionally had the head of the family stand down rather than wait for them to die.

HOUSE HARKONNEN​

[c]The 2nd House to be declared Holy by the Bene Gesserit in 187 B.C after Rowena Harkonnen married into House Atreides and gave birth to twins who were declared to posses many Godly attributes. The family have always maintained a fierce rivalry with the Atreides which boiled over into a fierce war between 1208-1211 AD.

HOUSE FREMEN​

[c]The 3rd of the Holy Houses. The Fremen were declared to be Holy in 91 BC following claims that Henry Fremen, the 2nd son of the Duke had miraclously regained his eye sight after losing it during battle.

The family have a heavy military tradition for males and links with the Bene Gesserit for females.

HOUSE CORRINO​

[c]The final of the Holy Houses, it was named Holy in 287 AD following a marriage of Benjamin Corrino to Lucille Fremen and their child being born allegedly able to speak.

The Corrino family have heavy involvement in business with Duke Niklaus Corrino being the richest man in the nation.

[c]Born in 1963 the Duke inherited the Ducal Ring in 1986.

He is a former lawyer who worked mainly on property law which helped the family establish a thriving property network.

In 1983 he married Lena Smolsk the daughter of an influential scholar who the Bene Gesserit admired for his intellect. [c]

Duchess Lena

[c]Born in 1965 she is the only daughter of renowned Kaitainian scholar Leopold Smolsk.

She was educated at Charterhouse until the age of twelve where her father began talks with both the Atreides and Corrino house regarding potential marriages after she was picked out by the Bene Gesserit. [c]

Sarah Atreides

[c]Born in 1986, eldest child of Duchess Lena and Duke Oswald.

She was originally considered for Chapterhouse but her father changed his mind. She holds a degree in Advanced Mathematics and donates part of her time to helping teach Maths in a local secondary school.

In 2005 she married Yann Bryant who had been selected by the Bene Gesserit for her. In 2010 she gave birth to daughter Catarina Atredies[c]

Yann Bryant

[c]Born in 1983 he is the only child of Lord Samuel Bryant, a well respected artist. He is an investment banker who has shown exceptional business sense adding to both the Bryant and Atreides wealth.

His father was highlighted by the Bene Gesserit as someone whose children should be considered for marriage to a Atreides in 1980.

He married Sarah in 2005.[c]

He attended University to study Archetecture and established the Atreides House of Design which has been successful in securing contracts for many restoration projects in the nation.

In 2011 he married Abigail Bello, a former Chapterhouse pupil selected by the Reverned Mother personally as his spouse.

He has a son called Bastien who was born in 2015.[c]

[c]Born in 1991 he is the youngest child of Duke Oswald and Duchess Lena.

He was a talented sportsman who competed for his University in atheletics winning several national championships in the 1500m. At the age of 20 however he damaged his knee in a car accident and retired from competition.

He was originally going to be permitted to choose his own wife however in 2013 the Bene Gesserit declared that they wished him to marry Karin Ikin and the two were married in 2015.[c]

She is the daughter of Lev Ikin, a man who rose to fame in the nation as a business advisor to House Fremen. His family were declared worthy of nobility and his daughter was offered to House Atreides for marriage soon after.

Duke Richard Harkonnen

[c]Born in 1953 he was the second son of Duke Stephen Harkonnen. He joined the military as an officer in 1975 and progressed to the rank of Captain by 1983 when his elder brother Arthur died.

In 1990 he inherited the Ducal Ring. He is currently the Honorary Commander of the Army Cadet Corps, a youth organisation for 13-18 year olds.

In 1978 he married Louise Frederiksson, the daughter of a owner of a major fishing fleet and a distant cousin of the Corrino family.[c]

Duchess Louise

[c]Born in 1960 she is the youngest of six children of Calvin Frederiksson, the owner of Frederiksson Fisheries the nations largest fishing fleet.

Louise was educated at Chapterhouse and was being groomed for a position in the Missionaria Portectiva when the Reverned Mother arranged for her to marry Richard Harkonnen in 1978.

She is the mother of Bryce, Matthias and Jonathon.[c]

Lady Charlotte Muller

[c]Born in 1972 she was the eldest daughter of a working class couple who allowed her to be educated by Chapterhouse after they identified her as having "potential"

Having however not made the progress expected of a Priestess she was moved to be trained as and Honored Matres and in 1990 on her 18th birthday was presented to Duke Richard as a courtesan.

She is the mother of Marcus who while not a full Harkonnen has been permitted to use the family name by his father. [c]

Marcus Harkonnen-Matres

[c]Born in 1992 he is the child of Due Richard and his concubine Charlotte.

Like all offspring of nobles and Honred Matres he has the last name Matres but his father permitted him to also use the family name. [c]

Bryce Harkonnen

[c]Born in 1980 he is the eldest son of Duke Richard and Duchess Louise and therefore heir to the Ducal Ring.

He is a qualified lawyer and along with Simon Fremen runs a law business which specialises in Copyright and Business law. He is close friends therefore with many of the Fremen family.

In 1999 he married Edith Winter, the daughter of a Priestess who was thought to posses the ability to heal via prayer. [c]

Edith Winter

[c]Born in 1981 she is the only child of a Priestess called Fiona Winter and a media magnet Gustav Winter.

She works for her father's company as an editor of several fashion publications as well as having recently branched out into owning a restaurant.

She married Bryce Harkonnen in 1999 on his 19th birthday. She gave birth to their only child, Louise in 2010.[c]

Matthias Harkonnen

[c]Born in 1985 he is the 2nd son of Duchess Louise and Duke Richard.

Despite being considered intellectually gifted he dropped out of University after a week and has since struggled to find anything his father considers "Productive" to do. He spends most of his days doing very little other than indulging in his love of sailing and kayaking.

In 2005 his father arranged for him to marry a distant cousin of the Harkonnen family in Christabel Backer. The two however do not get along well.[c]

Christabel Backer

[c]Born in 1984 she is a distant cousin of the Harkonnen family. She was a gifted dancer and part of the National Ballet Company. She was however convinced by her father to give that up and marry Matthias, something she still resents.

While Matthias is renowned for being a slacker she is highly valued by Duke Richard as she has shown a flare for organising grand events. [c]

Jonathon Harkonnen

[c]Born in 1993 he is the youngest son of Duke Richard and Duchess Louise.

He is a member of the Kaitaine Sports Academy staff having graduated with a degree in Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy. He works at the Academy as part of their coaching team for track cycling as well as competing in 2nd tier triathlons.

The Bene Gesserit considered him to have "exceptional potential" and as such have ensured a good marriage to a minor cousin of the Atreides family as well as presenting him with a Honored Matres[c]

Erin Grosse

[c]Is the wife of Jonathon Harkonnen and was born in 1991. She is a minor member of the Atreides family and was educated at Chapterhouse and seemed destined to become a Priestess however it was then determined she would marry Jonathon.

She is a close friend of his Honored Matres, Grace Young who she knew briefly from Chapterhouse. She also helps Christabel Backer with much of the families hospitality events. [c]

[c]Born in 1995 she was the orphaned child of a working class family who was taken to Chapterhouse at the age of six.

She was considered a gifted artist and in 2013 on her 18th birthday was presented to Jonathon Harkonnen as his concubine.

Duchess Anna Fremen

[c]Born in 1945 she is the only child of Duke Brandon Fremen and Duchess Yvonne.

She was educated at Chapterhouse becoming part of the Truthsayers and seeing duty as part of the Reverend Mothers security detail between 1965-1975.

Today she is often a guest lecturer at Chapterhouse and also advises the Ministry of Defence heavily. Many Kaitainians believe she is even part of the nations intelligence services.

In 1967 she married Devon Slater, the son of a minor noble chosen for her by the Reverend Mother personally.

She has two children, Simon and Robert[c]

Duke Devon

[c]Born in 1943 he is the 2nd son of a minor noble. He served briefly in the military before leaving because of problems with his liver.

In 1967 he was instructed by his father to marry Anna Fremen and has spent his life looking after the family affairs while she works for the government. [c]

Simon Fremen

[c]Born in 1968 he is the eldest son of Duchess Anna and Duke Devon, making him heir to the Ducal Ring.

He is a qualified lawyer and runs his own partnership with Bryce Harkonnen which is extremely successful in copyright and Business law. He is also a keen hunter and known to be a superb shot with a crossbow.

In 1992 he married Krystina Garner, a member of the Bene Gesserit Truthsayers. [c]

Krystina Garner

[c]Born in 1973 she is the 5th of 6 children in a Middle Class family. She was admitted to Chapterhouse at the age of five and ended up joining the Truthsayers, the military arm of the Bene Gesserit.

She became known to Duchess Anna who requested Krystina marry her son Simon.

The pair married in 1992 and have one son called Achilles. In 2010 she left the Truthsayers to look after the families security following a failed assassination attempt on Duchess Anna[c]

[c]Born in 1996 he is the only child of Simon and Krystina.

He is currently a student at University where he is studying medicine. He has expressed a desire to join the military as a doctor should he qualify.

He has been identified by the Bene Gesserit as having great potential and as such has been granted a Honored Matres[c]

Heidi Lehmann

[c]Born in 1996 she is the child of a lower class family and was given to Chapterhouse at the age of four to give her the chance of escaping the families poverty.

Was originally to be granted to Niklaus Corrino as a concubine however Duchess Anna requested her for her grandson and on her 18th birthday she was given to Achilles [c]

Robert Fremen

[c]Born in 1973 he is the youngest son of Anna and Devon.

He has a reputation for being a playboy and has had several affairs, one rumoured was with Christabel Backer, something that she denied.

In 1992 he married Lidia Ericcson, a member of the Missionia Protectiva and the pair run an educational trust.

He has one daughter Lydia[c]

Lidia Ericcson

[c]Born in 1972 she is the wife of Robert Fremen and a member of the Missionia Protectiva. She is a talented linguist and has written several best selling non-fiction books.

She is the mother of Lydia Fremen who was born in 1994.[c]

Lydia Fremen

[c]Born in 1994 she is the grand-daughter of Duchess Anna and the only child of Robert and Lidia.

She has followed in her Mother's footsteps joining the Missionia Protectiva and is currently training to be a teacher in Chapterhouse.

She married Army Lt. Jonathon Silvestri, who she meet on official duty and was permitted to marry. They married in 2015.[c]

Jonathon Silvestri

[c]Born in 1994 he is a Lt. in the 4th Artillary Regiment. He is the youngest son of a minor noble and meet Lydia Fremen during a combined parade between the Bene Gesserit and military. The pair began dating with the blessing of the Sisterhood and the two married in 2015.​

Duke Niklaus Corrino

[c]Born in 1982 he is the only child of Duke Henry Corrino and his wife Bella.

He was considered a "gifted child" at the age of five and by 14 had graduated secondary school with outstanding grades. He is a gifted musician and has from time to time played the cello with the national orchestra.

He inherited the Ducal Ring in 2002 at the age of 20 making him one of the youngest Dukes ever.

The Bene Gesserit have considered him to have "unlimited potential" and as such had him marry a member of Chapterhouse considered "Reverened Mother material" additionally keen to have him pass on his "potential" he has been granted two Honored Matres and currently has five children.

Duchess Agatha Loewe

[c]Born in 1984 she is the cousin of the Fremen family and entered Chapterhouse at the age of four. She progressed well in her studies and by the age of 15 was being discussed as a future Reverned Mother, however in 2002 on her 18th birthday she was married to Duke Niklaus.

Today she devotes her time to looking after her three children, Adam, Tristen and Emmeline.

[c]Born in 2003 he is the eldest son of Duke Niklaus and Duchess Agatha and as such heir to the Ducal Ring.

He is currently studying in secondary school and his teachers describe him as "talented in arts"[c]

Tristen Corrino

[c]Born in 2006 he is the youngest son of Duke Niklaus and Duchess Agatha. He is currently in Primary School.[c]

Emmeline Corrino

[c]Born in 2016 she is the youngest child of Duke Niklaus and Duchess Agatha.[c]

Nicole Dunst

[c]Born in 1980 she was sent to Chapterhouse in 1984 when her parents split up and her mother could no longer care for her.

She was originally a concubine for a distant cousin of the Corrino family between 1998 and 2000. However she was then presented to Niklaus on his 18th birthday.

She has bore his a single child, George who was born in 2002.[c]

George Matres

[c]Born in 2002 he is the son of Duke Nicklaus and his concubine Nicole.

He is close friends with Adam Corrino.[c]

Nivedan Spart

[c]Born in 1995 she is the 2nd Honored Matres of Duke Niklaus.

She caused controversy within the nation and the Bene Gesserit. On 22nd May 2013 on her 18th birthday she was supposed to be presented to Duke Niklaus, however she gave birth to her daughter Tillie on the 4th November 2013 confirming to many that she had seduced the Duke prior to the official presentation.

Since then she has not always kept out of the limelight by supporting anti-fur campaigns by posing naked and having many dealings with the media. [c]

This is the Seitch military elite. This is made up of around 800 Legionnaires. To become a member you must first serve at least 5 years in the military and then pass an intensive 31 week training and selection period. After that any member of the Legion can veto your entry by placing your name on the base doors. Once enlisted in the Legion you are on probation for 12 months.

SADARKAR SELECTION PROCESS

Stage 1 - Application

A potential Legionnaire must have served a minimum of five years in any branch of the military. To apply they must receive a nomination from two officers and then pass an interview with a Sadarkar NCO. After the initial NCO interview the canidadate undergoes various aptitude tests and psychological profiling.

Stage 2 -Sadarkar Orientation (1week)

Candidates are required to make their way to Legion HQ where the course takes place. Candidates undertake a map and compass test, a swimming test, a first aid test and a combat fitness test. Each day features a "Sergeants Adventure" which is some form of adapted run, such as combat run from an unknown location back to HQ. Each day sees distances, weights carried and difficulty of terrain increase.

Stage 3 - Fitness and Navigation (4 weeks)

This section starts with basic fitness tests, a 2.4km run to be completed in under 9mins30 seconds, followed immediatly by 45 press ups and 55 sit ups to be completed in two minutes each.

Each week follows a "Trial" at the end. These are tests designed to see a candidates progress and time limits vary dependent on local conditions.

Week 1 - 15km run complete with kit
Week 2 - The Figure of 8. A 24km march to be completed while reading a map and carrying 18kg rucksack, 5kg rifle and each Legionnaire must be in possession of a litre of water when they finish.

Week 3 -Endurance - Using a hand sketched map the Legionnaire must cover 35km carrying 18kg of kit, 5kg rifle and radio. They must navigate from RV to RV meeting an instructor at each stage.

Week 4 - The Long Drag - A 65km navigated route march to be completed in around 20 hours. Candidates must use map and compass to navigate between memorised Grid References where a NCO is waiting. The Legionnaires rucksack must weigh 25kg upon completion and a standard issue rifle must be carried.

Stage 4 - Initial Continuation Training (14 weeks)

This consists of detailed and realistic training in weapon handling, vehicle handling, demolitions and small unit patrol tactics. The candidates are assessed each day and any failing to make progress return to their unit immediately.

Stage 5 - Desert Training (6 weeks)

Desert training is usually carried out in the Steich Desert with candidates allocated to a four man patrol, each patrol supervised by a serving Sadarkar NCO. Heat and dehydration are persistent, potentially demoralising the candidate, and skin contusions, heat stroke, and at night hyperthermia and blisters must be cared for due to the risk of infection. Training includes survival, patrol techniques, navigation, vehicle handling, camp and observation post techniques, contact drills and medicine.
The final test encompasses these skills, where all things that have been learned must be applied correctly in a tactical environment. Any candidate thought not to be making progress is returned to their unit.

Stage 6 - S.E.R.E Skills(survive, escape, resist, exfil) (5 weeks)

Using skills learned so far the potential Legionnaire receives detailed training in Survival skills, Escape and evasion, resistance to capture and exfiltration. Any candidate thought not to be making progress is returned to their unit.

Week four see's Legionnaires given ill fitting 1960's equipment and a hand drawn map. They are to evade capture while travelling between checkpoints with a Hunter force chasing them. Once caught or upon reaching the final checkpoint they are "captured", often realistically, and taken to the Army's interegation centre. There they undertake a week of interegation where giving anything other than "Name, Rank, Number, Date of Birth and "Sorry I can't answer that question" " results in a fail. Candidates are exposed to sleep deprivation, extreme heat and cold, starvation, dehydration and other forms of mental torture.

Stage 7 - War Games (1week)

Potential Legionnaires are attached to a patrol preparing for deployment to a live theatre. Here the recruit experiences day to day life as a Legionnaire and is expected to be able to integrate within a patrol. The exact nature of this stage depends very much on the operational deployment of the patrol. The NCO of the patrol may return the candidate to their unit at any time.

Final Parade

During the final parade candidates who have passed so far are placed on parade with the whole of the Legion that is not deployed. During the parade they are presented with their Red and Black Beret unless a serving member of the Legion veto's their entrance to the Legion.

Probation (12months)

During this time the Legionnaire serves as a member of the unit, upon completion of the Probation period the patrol they have served on vote as to whether to give them their full red beret. A majority decision is taken, if they vote to not present the full red beret the Legionnaire is returned to their original unit.
