Not a campaign thread.

Gracius Maximus

Tyrant (Ret.)
I didn't want the ballot to be empty. I was surprised that there was no topic about the vacancy in the RA (unless I missed it?) and no notification sent to nations via TG as is typical for elections.

If for some reason I am still elected, I will show up, I won't rage quit during a trial, and I know the laws of the region better than most, so I wouldn't be a bad choice.

But, all things considered, it looks like TGR is the favoured candidate this cycle so it seems to be his seat for the taking, with or without experience.

You are becoming almost as cynical as me in your old age.

barring some stellar election threads, you have my vote.

If this were a meritocracy, you would win handily. As it is not, may I suggest a bit more color than a non-campaign?

Regardless, you have my vote.

It looks like GM has the support of our senior citizens. ^_^
And I appreciate their support. Many of them have seen me in this region at my very worst. Gaining their trust in my ability to hold this position is an honor.

That said, GBM, I know this is a popularity contest and I make no claims to being popular, I won't pander and I won't beg on IRC or elsewhere. If that means I don't win, so be it. I did genuinely place my name on the ballot because no one else had and because the thread seemed lost without any direction from the Voting Booth - I am still interested in knowing why there was no notification of the vacancy made to the nations or RA.

I think it is only fair that you are given opportunity to answer the same questions as the other two serious candidates.

What is your favorite decision on the (TNP) books, and why? What is your least favorite, and also why?

What highly controversial issue do you hope is not brought before the court during your term?

If for that reason alone, I cannot vote for GM. I refused to be lumped together with the geezers.

The day has gotten away from me and I have been using my phone for most of my online activities so will endeavour to address the questions tomorrow instead.

My favorite decision is Opinion 20, because it helped to establish the rights of the Court in regards to RoR and solidified the need for the Court to respect Precedent in nearly all situations.

My least favorite decision is Opinion 49, because I believe that the Court presented its decision in a sarcastic manner which is unfitting for the office, even if the decision itself is sound.

I am not afraid of any issue being brought before the Court.

I'm not as verbous as some in my responses, as you can see, but I am generally able to get right to the point and have no need to produce walls of text or unnecessary legalese to support my opinions.
