Welcome to the world of Pokemon! I am Augustine Sycamore, the Kalos region's very own Pokemon Professor. This world of ours is widely inhabited by creatures known as Pokemon! These mysterious creatures can be found in every corner of our world... Some run across the plains, others fly through the skies, and others yet swim in deep oceans... We live together with these Pokemon, lending our strength to one another to live and prosper. Let's get started with some quick questions... Are you a boy? Or are you a girl?"
Welcome everyone, to my adventure across the world of Kalos! I'll be using this as a bit of a writing exercise, as well as testing myself to how well I can hold up playing Pokemon under Nuzlocke Variant Rules! So, for this Nuzlocke, I'll be merging two different sets of rules: the Wedlocke and the Wonderlocke. I'll detail the rules I'll be following below.
- You may only catch the first Pokemon you encounter in each new area you explore. Fail to catch it and you get nothing for the area. (Rule doesn't apply until the player first obtain Pokeballs)
- Your Pokemon are "partnered" with each other and must fight in pairs.
- Only one male and one female can form a pair, and once they do, it lasts until one dies or is released.
- Each Pokemon on your team can battle only alongside its partner, if it has one. Switching Pokemon out in battle is allowed, but ONLY for the Pokemon's partner.
- If a Pokemon dies in battle, its partner must avenge the fallen Pokemon or die along with them; switching to any other Pokemon is forbidden, regardless of circumstance.
- If a Pokemon which is wedded dies, its partner becomes a "lone wolf."
- A Pokemon is a "lone wolf" must be given a new partner as soon as possible.
- If there is only one Pokemon eligible to become its partner, it must be. (For example, if a male Pokemon's partner dies, and there is only one female Pokemon in the PC, they must be paired.)
- Whenever you obtain a new Pokemon, you must wonder trade it off for a random new Pokemon.
- Pokemon received in wonder trade must be paired with other Pokemon received in wonder trade. If there an uneven (1, 3, 5) number of Pokemon, the Pokemon must be wonder traded until it is of the needed gender. (i.e. 2 males, 1 female. next Pokemon received in wonder trade must be traded until female)
- Dupes Clause: If you obtain a duplicate Pokemon from Wonder Trade, you may wonder trade it back off. This does NOT apply to normal captures.
- If you gain a pokemon that is too high leveled and won't listen to you, you may wonder trade it back off.
- If one of your Pokemon faints it is considered dead and needs to be released.
- All Pokemon must be nicknamed.
For the duration of this adventure, I'll be playing as a male character, names James. Starter Pokemon will be Chespin, but that doesn't matter since he'll be traded away 8D. Look for Part 1, coming soon to a thread near you!
