Who Influences You?

Hey, so, some scholars believe that there is only one story, but different ways to say it, and I know personally, some of my characters do have influences that help me make decisions for them. Of course, they've deviated a bit, but still, they are influences. So, I'd like to know, what non-NS characters influence your characters?

Be it a literary character, a character from a movie, or a character from a video game, please post a picture and tell us what the two characters share. And include a picture of both (if possible), I'm a visual person.

I'll go first with my main RP character, Alicia Burns. I'd say the wild and spontaneous Spokeswoman is very similar to the Shadow Broker herself, Dr. Liara T'Soni. Both are, let's admit it, geniuses, and both have about like, one friend, and that is their bot, Glyph (Liara) and Ayuda (Alicia). Both prefer the quietness, and take a while to warm up to. However, they both have big hearts, and you should not overlook that.

Martin Alistair, the protagonist in Serpentine Statecraft is influenced by Frank Underwood from House of Cards, though I can't say I'm good at this kind of character.

My PM, Sydney Briggs though I haven't had the opportunity to flesh out her character, is inspired by Australian PM Julia Gillard.

Despite having relatively little in the way of roleplaying interaction available for characters to be fully established, I have basic concepts I'm assuming for:

Sphan K'ter

Samuel Vines for anyone unaware. Sarcastic old guard vet who really prefers his previous life to politics. A good man, just not a nice one.

Esop A'guz
Mainly this guy, Johannes Cabal, studier of necromantic arts and plaything of Nylarthotep:

Coupled with Lord Vetinari, Patrician of Ankh-Morpork.:

Mildly sinister, invested in seeking knowledge as much as possible. Rather distant, but has the best interest of his home at whatever makes up his heart.

I tend to model my characters after historical figures (sometimes intentionally, sometimes not).

Belrak is modeled mostly after enlightened despots like Frederick of Prussia or Catherine the Great.

Askata Urdi is modeled after various revolutionary figures in history, ranging from Patrick Henry to Rosa Luxemburg to Robespierre.

I happen to be a big fan of the archetype of an older person who is very experienced but still very sharp and who still has fight in them. In my case, they're often intelligent, quiet (making the impact of their raised voice significant), and very observant. Such is the inspiration for the Prime Minister of the Lancerian Empire, the elderly Isaac Oudinot, and the also elderly Marshal Francois Havilland, the Lancerian ambassador to Avalon.

King Albert was very loosely based on Bashaar al-Assaad. With the Father of Assad being based on the King Kian XIV.

Queen Matilda/Mitra II I haven't based on anyone as such. I think it would be too difficult to place her character.

Amira I've based on the character of the same tame from the TV Show Tyrant. A woman who is constantly plagued by the mistakes of her past, and her regrets for how her children were raised.

Well i'll only cover prominent characters we've seen so far.

Sebt II
Sebt is a sort of mixture of Garrus Vakarian and Obi-Wan Kenobi along with a dash of Slade Wilson from the Shan Yu storyline of Season 1 of Arrow, which is also why for Sebt's photos I use pictures of Manu Bennet, the Kiwi actor who portrays Slade in the show and why I had Sebt lose an eye fighting Vega.

Is pretty much my real-life sister, very intelligent but a bit of a cloudcuckoolander and ditzy. Also my sister is something of a female equivalent of a Babe Magnet since I've CONSTANTLY had to be the scary overprotective big brother to keep the wrong types sniffing about. She's asked me not to post a photo though but I've gotten into enough fights when I was a teenager trying to deal with boys harassing her.

Lycaon IX, Elder of the Crescent clan, former Khan of Wolfsea.
Lycaon is pretty similar to my own grandfather in that he's a kind, compassionate man who pretty much gave Sebt his moral centre and has always supported him, especially when it came to Sebt deposing his own father. in terms of appearrence Lycaon is based upon the late. great Sir Christopher Lee.

Bors Garvin, Elder of the Garvin clan, former Legatus Imperatus (Chief of the Khan's Armies)

This one is a bit more complicated, Bors is Sebt's maternal Grandfather and, like Lycaon, does draw some inspiration from my late Grandfather who was a police officer for about 30 years, in that he was also primarily responsible for Sebt's moral guidance but he is primarily, in both appearrence and personality, based upon King Richard IV in The Black adder and, of course, his actor Brain Blessed (A living legend.)

Crown-Princess Andrea, Consort of the Khan.
In terms of personality Andrea is based on my best friend (our relationship is complicated) but she's very sweet and kind but very much a mama bear who, quite appropriately is the only person whom can order Sebt around really. Again I've tried to find a photo of somebody who closely resembles her and ironically, it is the character from whom her name was taken, Deanna Troi from Star Trek: TNG. Also she is a very good singer IRL hence why I added that Andrea did have a singing career prior to marrying Sebt.

Alejandro Sarzar, former Prime Minister of San Antilles.
Alejandro is Andrea's father and was the leader of the San Antillan Workers Party throughout the 80's and later Prime Minister of San Antilles, in terms of his personality he's based on a old bar owner I used to work for who was never seen without a shirt that I can only describe as ludicrously tropical, he was a great guy who took good care of staff and customers and was always heavily involved in the bar side of things. As a Prime Minister Alejandro was known for being very progressive and approachable but he wasn't that big a fan of the then-Khan Ein VI but he still contributes and advises Sebt, especially in regard to dealing with San Antillian politics so he's never really stopped his political service. As for his appearrence he's based on Robert Englund.

I try not to depend too heavily on any one character as inspiration for a character of my own, except for Svetlana Abbiati who, in my mind, looks and sounds exactly like Rachel Duncan from Orphan Black.

Maybe a lot of Jones from Gunnerkrigg Court in there, too.
