The police vans stopped in front of the court house in Carrotopolis, and as the news reporters tried to get close, the Guslantis Armed Forces troops held them back with shields. "Stay away, this prisoner is highly dangerous," yelled an officer. Meanwhile, the Advisory Council and the chancellor arrived on their limousine, and promptly exited. "This trial should be quick, what is she going to say: 'I didn't coup Guslantis?'", commented Abigail. "Yes, it would take only a complete psycho to defend a complete psycho," commented Baldwin. "Greggory!", yelled a woman, and Baldwin knew he spoke too soon. The woman, a woman of darker complexion with beautiful black hair, a tight grey dress, matching heels, and a gold necklace and gold earrings approached. Baldwin recognized the woman almost immediately. It was the sister of his predecessor, Odessa Beier. "It has been so long dear, how are you enjoying the position of Minister of Finance?", she asked, and Baldwin knew what she was getting at. "Oh, good, good. No corruption, I guess that's good. Been using the Hall Building for the HQ, and I really like it," he replied, nervously. "I preferred when the Ministries were separated, honestly. When the Manor was home to the Ministry of Finance," she commented. Baldwin sighed, she really wanted him to talk about her brother. "So, Ms. Beier, what are you doing here? Watching one of the greatest criminals come to justice?", asked Baldwin. "Lady Beier..., and no, I'm here to participate in the trial. I'm an attorney, if you don't remember," corrected Odessa. "Wait, you aren't the Attorney General...," commented Baldwin.

"Correct, I'm the defense attorney for Vanessa Hoskins in the trial of Guslantis v. Hoskins. Think about it, the fame of successfully defending the most highly wanted criminal in the history of the monarchy. Ooh, Charles would be so happy," commented Lady Beier. "Why, because his little sis is turning evil as well?", retorted Nancy. "I have a name, Ms. Scottsfield, and for your information, in my line of work, it's called protecting your interests. Charles was trying to do that as MoF, until you turned him into a living kabob, Nancy. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must be going. Vanessa and I need to speak before the trial," she stated, turning her back on the Council. Her hips swayed back and forth as she walked away, and the Council could not believe Vanessa had actually found a defense.

"Now, where is our attorney general? Maybe he'll be less crazy than the defense," commented Alicia, cheering up her Cabinet.

Jonah Wright arrived at the courthouse. Dressed up in his best business suit. He was going to prosecute what was going to be one of the most important criminal trials in the history of mankind. He was certain of it. That's why he had a 10-lawyer team up all night constructing a solid case. Sure it might be overkill for a suspect who is undoubtedly guilty. But it was good to be safe, wasn't it?

Rising the through the political ranks of Guslantis was not easy. Everything from when he was born, to his first successful election as city councillor of Augustus Town, to his appointment as AG was to lead up to this point in time. He'd be a household name now.

Wright climbed the steps of the courthouse. Not too fast. He'd seem to eager. Nobody likes an overly aggressive a prosecutor. But not too slow. He wouldn't want to seem too nonchalant about this.

As Wright confidently walked up the steps of the courthouse, Odessa stood in the shade of the surrounding oak trees with Lord Hedden and Ms. Ryan, the two other members of her team. "He looks too impressed with his stance on the issue," said Hedden, grumpily. "These government officials seem to embrace the idea of a centralized government structure, one which led to this loss of control and for the monarchy to belong to Vega," replied Beier, studying the attorney as he walked. "We must destroy the man at his own game! We must win!" screamed Cassidy Ryan, before Beier looked to her in utter disgust. What her brother found in this psychotic woman was above her head. "Come, Matthew, Cassidy, we must introduce ourselves to this one," she ordered, as she quickly ascended the steps, followed by her team. "Jonah, oh Jonah," she said, flagging the attorney down.

When she reached him, she tapped his shoulder. "Excuse me dear, you must be the attorney general. My my, I didn't expect a man of such youth to be my opponent in this match of wits. Sweetie, you must be very intelligent indeed," she said, looking Jonah over with intention to try to study his weaknesses. "Oh, I forgot. Lady Beier," she said, extending her hand. "You may be familiar with my residence of the Château de Beier in the western provinces of Guslantis. Or you may not, considering how centralized this country has seemed to become. I do hope, Mr. Wright, that whoever wins this challenge is the better opponent, and that their stance is the one that is most definitely right," she said smiling.

Meanwhile, the police van was being unloaded, and a depressed Vanessa was escorted out of the van by guards. She looked different than the evil Vega that orchestrated the coup of the nation. Her hair had all but faded from black to her natural brown hair, and she actually looked disappointed, some would even say regretful. It was hard to tell if she was genuinely regretting her actions and murders, or if this was some wicked façade that Lady Beier had put in her mind prior to the trial.

Odessa looked down to her client, looked to Lord Hedden, and looked back to Jonah. "We better be going, our client needs all the defense she can get, come Lady Beier, let's get to work on finalizing our defense," said Lord Hedden, in his monotone voice. "Right, right, yes. Au revoir, mon ami, see you in the courtroom," said Lady Beier, shaking Jonah's hand and the two proceeded off, leaving Cassidy.

"You seem very nice, Mr. Wright. And you're really cute! Sorry if I'm coming on too strong, but I'd like to chat with you a little, if you have a moment. Just a quick second," said Cassidy, smiling innocently as she blushed.

In the observers gallery a man dressed in a black Wolvesh uniform sat and watched, eager to see what passed for Guslant justice. His eyes betrayed a cruel nature as t be expected of Wolfsea's Chief Prosecutor and it's Lord High Executioner, Lord Swarzfeng was not amused, the Khan should have beheaded the witch but Guslantis was considered a sister-nation by the people of Wolfsea and teir legal process had to be given precedent here. He would observe only but would certainly express his disapproval to the High Justiciar.
