King Sherwin Names His Appointments for the Royal Council
The Karthied Herald, 16 September, 2015
His majesty today named his candidates for the three crown appointed positions of the Royal Council. He named his long time friend, Duke Phillip Montgomery of Lamarinthia as High Chancellor, an appointment that came as no surprise.
Duke Montgomery received the Chancellor's Seal from Alfred Rhodes in a solemn ceremony before the Landesgrad. The King's father gave a short speech on the importance of the Chancellor's position and included a moving anecdote of his appointment by his late wife, Queen Catheryn II. He reminded Duke Montgomery that he was the voice of the Kingdom in the King's ear.
Donal Fitzpatrick was replaced as treasurer by the King's brother, Stuart, who has stepped down as Minister of Trade. Nathaniel Hancock de Alayn was retained as Warden General.
The Landesgrad was then called to order by Duke Montgomery and the appointment of the three ministers was called. Count Havel Fordham was named Minister of Trade, Wilhelm Mortimer was retained as Minister of Civil Order, and Duke Alphius Skywing was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs. The Duke of Idjo's appoinment has stirred much controversy with many speculating the King may have had a hand in his appointment. Charlotte Halpern, Queen Catheryn's Minister of Foreign Affairs, spoke with the press afterwards, assuring all that the appointment is in the best interest of the Kingdom nor was the appointment influenced by the crown. She will soon begin her new assignment as Diplomat to Tajis.
