Tomb For Justice 2015

Tomb

TNPer
Hi folks, as the title suggests, I’m running for Justice of The North Pacific. Throughout my time in TNP, most of my work had been centralized around the Executive Branch. I’ve served as Delegate, Minister of Home Affairs (for almost 12 months, btw), Deputy Minister of Communications, Minister of Foreign Affairs (in an interim capacity), Minister of WA Affairs, and other deputy ministerial ranks. The best way to describe my time in the Executive Branch is to say that R3n, McM, and Asta have truly honored me by giving me the great opportunity to get exposed to the branch and be able to lead some of its departments. My career also spanned the Legislative Branch, and it was also a great honor working with COE as his Deputy Speaker for about a month. Getting exposed to the work of updating rolls, constantly watching activity, and just always on being on your toes was great, and it was a really thrilling experience.

With that in mind though, I’d like to go and face new challenges at this point, and enter a new area of government, the Judicial Branch. As it will soon become apparent, I’ve resigned as Minister of Home Affairs privately with Asta. The reason for that is the fact that the inactivity in the Ministry of Home Affairs is too overwhelming for me to deal with given the amount of RL time that I can devote to NS. I still check this website daily, and I still spend time here, but at this time, I no longer have the capability of efficiently and perfectly leading the Ministry of Home Affairs. I believe that as Justice, this should not pose a problem, since number one, our Court does not usually see a lot of activity, and number two, I get to divide my responsibilities with two other individuals, which lightens the workload. That’s why I decided to run for this office at this time. It allows me to serve TNP directly without affecting my RL situation.

Moving on, I’d like to reflect on my goals for this term. If elected, I will primarily focus on working with my fellow justices, learning as much as I can (as this is going to be my first serious Judicial Branch position), and just basically doing the best I can to provide timely trials and reviews. Other than that, I look forward to what this term will bring if elected.

I thank you for reading this and for your consideration. If you have any questions, please do let me know, and I’ll be happy to answer them for you.

Thanks again,

~ Tomb

Sad to hear that you've resigned as Minister of Home Affairs. Sorry that I couldn't help you more with it.

I don't really have any questions for you - but good luck Tomb!

Thank you for the kind words, McM. If you ever have a question, I’d still be happy to answer it. And lastly, thank you for the good luck wish.

Who do you support for the Presidency of the United States in 2016?
In RL, I am a proud Democrat, and an equally proud supporter of Secretary Clinton for POTUS in 2016.

Now don't get me wrong. I think that Senator Sanders is a great man, and I've actually been identified as a Democratic Socialist myself through political spectre quizzes ever since forever, but I believe that Secretary Clinton has more experience and a stronger appeal within voters than Sanders does. And so to shortly answer your question, Hillary For 2016!

Full Support!

Thank you for being willing to stand for one of the most thankless jobs here in TNP.

I have a couple of questions (that I will be posing to all Justice candidates):

1. What is your legal opinion of the last criminal trial held before the Court?
2. What is (at least) one thing from the ruling and/or process that you agree with?
3. What is (at least) one thing from the ruling and/or process that you disagree with?

Thank you.

Tomb, I'm very sad to lose you as MHA. Couple questions:

1) If I rig the election so that you lose, can HA have you back? :P

2) Serious one this time. How has your experience on the receiving end of our judicial system affected your impression of it? Are there any reforms you would like to make?

Gladio and Syrixia, thank you both for your support. It's great to have you two by my side.

Thank you for your questions, Gracius Maximus. Though since the case does concern me, I'd really rather not comment on it. I've served the sentence given to me without an appeal, and with that in mind, I want to close that chapter and move on.

Thank you,

Thank you Asta. That means a lot.

1.) Sure :P

2.) Yes, there are reforms that I'd like to see it make, but I do want to point that these reforms are based on the general operations of the Court and not me. First of all, I want to see speedy reviews and trials go through, well, in a speedy and timely manner. Other than that, by keeping the court active, we should have an excellent court this term.

I appreciate your reluctance.

I will rephrase the questions then, because the context is not the main reason I asked them:

1. What is (at least) one thing about the current system that works well?
2. What is (at least) one thing about the current system that you would seek to change while in office?

Thank you.

Thank you, those are questions that I'd love to answer. One thing about the current system that works well is the overall ability of the court to function. I think that the current procedures and laws (legal code, court rules, etc.), and the ways in which Justices implement them (through trial and reviews) do a really good job of setting up a legal system for this region overall. I think that the Justice system maintains a really good system of checks and balances on the other two branches of government, and I really think that with greater activity on the part of justice's, we'd see a much more efficient system.

Which brings us to part two of the question. As far as procedures go, I don't really seek to change anything at this point, because I believe that they are efficient for the time being. However, I'd be happy to discuss this with my fellow justices if elected. I'm sure that some of the other candidates might have some ideas, and so hopefully by actively working together, we'll be able to propose or deliver changes if needed.

I hope that answers your questions, GM, and if you have anymore, do let me know :)

Thanks,

~ Tomb

When you were delegate you disappeared. Will you keep up activity levels this time?
I believe you are mistaking, my friend. I never "disappeared" while I was Delegate. I was active throughout my time as Delegate to the last moment, when I resigned. I really do not like making commitments to a position unless I have enough time and resources for it. This is a standard that I applied to every position I have held in NS thus far. I took a break from NS after I resigned by a few days, but that's not during the time "I was Delegate."

I hope that resolves your misunderstanding and answers your question. :)

Flemingovia may be thinking of my recent failure of a term :P But I didn't vanish for too long.

Resigning is always better than going inactive for weeks without notice.

I stand corrected. You resigned rather than disappeared as delegate.

You resigned rather than disappeared as minister of Home Affairs.

To rephrase my question, how can the electorate be sure you will not resign this position too?

So you're essentially conveying that it's better to disappear than resign? That's an interesting concept. Anyways, I'll go ahead and answer your question.

First of all, you can distort the facts however you want, but it's not gonna change a thing. Let me point out, I've served in more than 10 positions in TNP, I've only resigned from 2. I've served as Minister of Home Affairs for almost 12 months. I've been active in that Ministry ever since day one in this region, and I don't recount that I've ever neglected it in anyway, quite the opposite. Essentially, that's why I resigned. If I stayed as Minister, I'd would not have been able to perform to my fullest ability due to my limited activity, and the increasing needs of the Ministry.

I think that the electorate knows of my record of work across the Ministry of HA that I've served in. They are also aware of the amount of work I put into this region when I was Delegate and all the other positions that I held. In addition to all of this, I addressed this issue already in my campaign opening thread, which I recommend that you reread in detail. I stated that based on the recent history of activity of the Court, I believe that I can easily manage any and all duties that are entailed from me.

Thanks,

~ Tomb

No. I am conveying it is better to do neither.

Not by the text that you posted, you're not.

Anyways, best of luck to you.

CAMPAIGN MESSAGE: COMING IN

A message from the Tombian Campaign Staff:

As election time is approaching, we want to remind our voters to vote for Tomb. He represents everything you need in a Justice and nothing you don't. That's why come election time, it doesn't matter where or in what order, but Tomb has to be there.

So your ballot could be like this:

Code:
[b]Court Justice:[/b] < Your Choice | Your Choice | The Democratic Republic of Tomb >
[b]Would you like to reopen nominations?[/b] < Yes | No >

[b]Attorney General:[/b] < Your Choice >
[b]Would you like to reopen nominations?[/b] < Yes | No >

But it could also be like this:

Code:
[b]Court Justice:[/b] < Your Choice | The Democratic Republic of Tomb | Your Choice >
[b]Would you like to reopen nominations?[/b] < Yes | No >

[b]Attorney General:[/b] < Your Choice >
[b]Would you like to reopen nominations?[/b] < Yes | No >

And it has a good probability of being like this too:

Code:
[b]Court Justice:[/b] < The Democratic Republic of Tomb | Your Choice | Your Choice >
[b]Would you like to reopen nominations?[/b] < Yes | No >

[b]Attorney General:[/b] < Your Choice >
[b]Would you like to reopen nominations?[/b] < Yes | No >

But no matter where you put it, make sure that it there. Because remember, when Tomb is in it, vote for him to win it.

THANK YOU!
