A few of us nerds here like playing around with complex voting systems. ([me] pokes Syrixia.) Anyway, I found this nifty tool. That counts instant runoff votes. Last general election only 8 people voted. Entering the votes in manually isn't prohibitively tedious. I intend to, if there are no objections to this, run the next election using instant runoff voting. This is partly due to the fact that I won with a paltry 3 votes out of 8, and that doesn't feel too good. :P The charter says that positions are "elected" but fails to mention how. If I use IRV for the next election I shall conduct as chair, it doesn't mean future chairs have to.

The winner will obviously be chairman, and the runner-up after the last round will be deputy chairman, as per the charter.

As an experiment, and since Cascadia resigned from the game, I'm going to hold an IRV election for deputy chair. I actually have the power to appoint the deputy, but I intend to appoint the winner. The aforementioned nifty tool outputs the results for each round of elimination, so they can easily be contested. Please share your thoughts on the matter.

Anything relating to IRV I will support. IRV is accurate and representative and I respect it.

Yes. I prefer majoritarian systems in general. However, if the DU becomes too large, we'd have to scrap IRV. (For this reason, I would refuse to advocate IRV for TNP elections) But due to the relative smallness of elections, it's not a problem.
