History of Yeraennus

I recently realized, that like every good TNP nation, I need a history.

The way my nation currently pans out in my head is that the first people, now known as the High Yeraenn, arrived relatively early in history to the island, say about 3000 BCE, and didn't resemble anything like Yeraennus today. They remained as separate tribes and bands, settled across the southern half of the island and the mountains. About 1900 BCE, *something* happens and the High Yeraenn are evidently forced into the mountains in the middle of the island. About 1000 years later, another group shows up, now called the Low Yeraenn, and settle in the forests in the northern half of the island that the High Yeraenn had avoided for 2100 years and start making some rudimentary tribal states. Skip about another 1800 years, the first unified state truly recognizable as today's Yeraennus emerges, with the capital sitting on the northwestern coast of the island. Then, about 1200 years after that, Sphan K'ter takes control and today's Yeraennus emerges.

As you can see, there are several rather large gaps in the history that I really don't think I can do anything with as of now, so I decided to invite ya'll to influence my nation's history. I'm really open to pretty much anything that fills in those gaps, be it conquering, genocide, war, colonization, etc.

The nations I think make the most sense to have influenced Yeraennus are listed below. Nations further flung might have influenced me as well, so if you feel that floats your boat, we could probably make that work.

Invited Nations

Hiskjriaana
The Watching Nebula
Kalti

The Kaltians first arrive on their island archipelago in 990 B.C.E. where they create the Chiefdom of Kalti that exists until 505 C.E. when a civil war erupts due to a power grab for the line of succession that ultimately fractures the old tribal monarchy. From the ashes, two new monarchical houses grow with one taking control of the northern islands and tribes and the other taking control of the southern islands and tribes. These two entities came to be known as the Kaltian Tetrarchy and would exist until 959 C.E. with the overthrow of the southern monarchy and re-integration with the north following the further abolishment of the northern monarchy. Out of this arose a new democratic and federalized state that was soon called the Federation of Kalti. By 1001 C.E., a trading colony has been founded on the shores of Callaici that facilitated trade with the eastern nations more easily. The Confederation itself would not come about until 1408 C.E. with the integration of Kalti and Callaici under one unified government, the Forum (d'Entesa and de la Savieza).

So quite a lot of history to work with, let me know what your thoughts are.

Nothing noteworthy is known of Norvalkin before 1910, save the 1860 birth of the nation's founder, Randal Q. Hacker. RQH founded the Republic of Norvalkin as a military dictatorship with dominant minority rule, where those who "kissed the Don's ring" prospered. Running water, electricity, and utilities in general were rewards for toeing the party line. In 1890, General Hacker was invited to a banquet in McMasterdonia, where he met the future Mrs. Hacker, the Crown Princess Issabella, who bore the man two sons, Randal Q. Hacker II (b. 1911, d. 2004) and Randal X. Hacker (b. and d. 1911). After the unexpected death of her second son, Issabella simply "disappeared."

In 1950, following the death of "Randal the Tyrant," Randal II (sometimes referred to as "Randal the Blessed" or "Saint Randal of Norvalkin") assumed power, and life changed, dramatically, for the better: those who had supported his father, and repented, were allowed to remain free, while those who failed to atone for their crimes "disappeared" like his mother, and their assets were seized for communal use. The Republic began transitioning from an outright dictatorship to a federal presidential constitutional republic, with majority rule tempered by minority rights protected by law.

In 1971, Randal Q. Hacker III was born, and in 2014 announced his candidacy for President of the Technological Republic of Norvalkin, choosing his father's confidant and advisor Joshua M. Gibbs as his running mate. While many Norvalkinians were wary of allowing another Hacker to assume the Presidency, Randal III pledged not to continue the policies of his father (Randal II, who had been found guilty of providing weapons to the Serbalkians during the 1985-1994 Second Serbalkian War, and "disappeared" after the trial), and began ushering in an age of prosperity.

I'm always game for including more folks in my history, and vice versa. If you can think of some way for that to happen, or want to talk about it, I'm always here.

Hmmmm... That leaves about 4 generations of people between the settling of Kalti and the settling of Northern Yeraennus, which isn't a very big gap TBH. It also seems your overthrow lines up with the founding of Unified People's Kingdom of Yeraennus (working title, the first unified Yeraennite state) with a ~50 year gap, so these events might possibly be related.

The Chiefdom of Kalti was very isolationist and rarely interacted with the outside world, this was due in part to the power of the tribal elders who wanted to distance themselves from any foreign outside influence and preserve the Kaltian heritage intact. By the middle 500's C.E., both the northern and southern Tetrarchy began trade with the outside world with occasional naval explorations and trade with nearby neighbors (like your nation) but nothing far flung, that wouldn't happen until 1001 C.E. with the establishment of Maestyd, the trading port in Callaici that opened up the western trading routes (this would happen again in 1610 with opening of the trading port Arish in Tir na Andalucia and the beginning of the 'Aois Cúis' in the Confederation).

Note: I haven't finalized how the Tetrarchy era ends yet but what I listed above is one potential idea.

Note 2: I'd be open to do a historical role play at any point between 500 C.E. and 1000 C.E. or something more recent. The Aois Cúis stuff is something I'm currently working on and I have yet to decide if I want to include other nations or no.

The Tetrarchies would've probably traded most often with the Yer'kol and the Yer'sul, as they were the two largest tribal states in existence up until the formation of the Unified People's Kingdom of Yeraennus. A roleplay of that might be interesting, but I want to see if anyone else wants to help plan the history of Yeraennus first.
